Reviews for "Straw Hat Samurai"

Pretty good but not perfect

I noticed a very exploitable glitch regarding the treasure chest in the very top left corner of the strategy board, but asides from that it was an amazing game. Seems to be very influenced by Samurai Jack and that just feels good inside.

Wow, Great game

This is a fantastic idea, and it's done really well. The art is beautiful, it's fast, and addicting , but it's got a few problems in my opinion. First, It's hard to see what enemies are on the edges, so I got most of my damage losing track of where the character was on the edges, and secondly, I was swiping around so frantically, I was moving the links on my desktop around by mistake, XD but that's my own fault. Otherwise, this game is great; I was playing with a pen-tablet (Which made it all the more fun) and was thinking it would be perfect on something on like a DS or iPod touch or something XD... actually this game fits those systems perfectly (it's better than half the stuff they actually make for those systems) . Great game, and keep up the good work =D (I voted for you on the supplied website, good luck)

Amazing

This game is amazing the only thing I would suggest is to add a save feature because it's kind of annoying to have to start over every time

great

This is a great game. I know I don't have any submissions so people may say I am in no position to critique your game but I want to try and help people make their games better.

Very little wrong, it is a fun/cool fighting system. I think some minor changes could be done though to make it better.

(I didn't play the full game so idk if there are some of these aspects)

1) moving with wasd keys instead of clicking
2) blocking
3) enemies with more than one HP
4) various heights to the side scrolling areas
5) a jump button obviously
6) upgrades to weapons, or different weapons with different abilities (more damage, faster attacks etc.)

If the game had these things I think it would be awesome

but great game.

Good idea, could be improved.

Really, a well-done game, the drawable sword-strokes being the best part. Moving, however, is painfully slow, and I found that I would simply draw a sword slash to ensure that he would run where I wanted. A minimap showing the entire field would be useful for avoiding archers who might be farther away than I originally scrolled. The art was good, though aiming at the enemies in the watchtower was--probably intentionally--challenging, and though I know the point-and-click is more intuitive most of us are quite capable of moving with W,A,S, and D and using the mouse and the shift key at the same time. This has been a much longer paragraph than I usually put on these reviews, but then this game was exceptional, and overall a good start as a meld between side-scrolling and strategy. If you make a sequel, I'm sure it will be the full package.
