wow

blown away by the beauty of this piece. Like Evan said, you should consider film scoring. It just seems like you have the knack for it, already being into video as well you've got a unique perspective into it as well. I love this track, getting back on topic, and all the subtle asian touches that are UNDOUBTEDLY there LJ, haha. Great work with the sound design, each sound fits each other so perfectly!, however the pizzicato I think is too dominant on the low-mid end, and sounds squished. Other than that, perfect!

LJCoffee responds:

Cool beans - as for the squished sounds, I wasn't overly concerned with my levels so it's probably all off but hey, it's only NG right?

As for film scoring, that would be great - maybe I could start with one of yours. We could help make each other famous!

I'm soooo sorry...

So sorry I haven't reviewed your stuff before. Wow what can I say.. it's friggin awesome! I wonder why you have so few downloads? Is there no justice in this world?! :D I love your style. I've liked everything I've heard from you so far, which is 8 of your most recent songs. I'll be back for more later. But right now I'll return the favor and 5 up all your tunes. Keep makin those awesome weird pieces man. See ya!

LJCoffee responds:

Thanks man - Yeah - I get very few downloads.. oh well right? I appreciate the votes - I'll be sure to listen to your stuff as well!

Lordy...

And another one. You boggle my mind, man. It's like if Philip Glass snorted a bunch of coke and started writing everything in pizzicatto. <3

LJCoffee responds:

Cool Beans! That's a nice compliment!

Where am I?

I'm diggin the great choice in sounds as well as the very professional arrangement. These are things that are hard to make sound realistic, and you did just that. Bravo!

To be more constructive, I was trying to place this in a movie scene and for some reason, my mind jumped to an Asian marketplace...you know drawn carts, gypsies, the whole shibang. But you know where I wanted to go next? To the King's castle where tragedy is about to strike...I would love for this to open up into a fully orchestrated and heart wrenching sob piece. Maybe I'm just depressed. Haha, great piece anyway.

LL

LJCoffee responds:

Thanks LL - I seem to be getting a few comments about an asian feel - I never intended that but hey, it's all good - of course my g/f asked if I was going through some kind of Tim Burton phase - I didn't intend that either...

I actually have a "fully orchestrated and heart wrenching sob piece" that I wrote forever and a day ago- long before I even got a pc but I just simply cannot get it to sound right - something just isn't translating very well - I'll send you a copy when I finally get it the way I want it.

Talk to you later!

BTW - I still haven't forgotten about your flick - I'm just shiftless from time to time... :D

ooh...

...now that's some lovely stuff:) If you add some mad chopped breaks to this then it would sound quality, not to say that it doesn't as is, but man! I can just hear the beats in my head as I sit here listening to this.
This should be in the ambient category I reckon, loved it, should definately be made into a full blown 5 minuter with a mad drum section comin in after about 2mins in, would be great!
take it easy fella.

LJCoffee responds:

Thanks a ton.

Yep, I hear ya - I pulled the plug on the percussion at the last minute.

Maybe it's worth revisiting. - Perhaps I'll take your advice, tweak it up a bit, extend it and drumify it.

Thanks again, always nice to hear from you.
