Reviews for "Microbe Kombat"

well....its good.....but....

well its good but........................ITS A FUCKING SPORE COPY!

HeroInteractive responds:

I can't tell you how many comments like this I've responded to. Let me just hit the main points of my usual rant for you:
1) This is NOT, I repeat, NOT a Spore copy.
2) The only similarity between Microbe Kombat and Spore is that they both have cellular stages that require you to grow. The design is COMPLETELY different.
3) The "eat something and grow larger" concept is NOT new to games. In fact it's used over and over again and again in MANY games. Are all of those Spore copies, too?
4) This game was in development before anyone at Hero Interactive even knew what the cell stage of Spore would look like.
5) Keep your profanities to yourself.

Thank you.

Ehh...

Nothing too new.

Interesting

I quite liked this game but it was far too easy. I only once got infected by a virus on the last level but i still won in one go.

awesome!!!

i've completed the game!!! its very nice. very constructive.

HeroInteractive responds:

Thanks Bleachfan200! We're glad you liked it.

What's this? A new idea?

I hear some people comparing this to spore and just wanted to point out the following:

THIS IS NOT SPORE!

With that out of the way, on to the explanation of the nine I gave you.
Seeing as this is a somewhat experimental game, I am willing to forgive any lack of certain aspects being ironed out; I still believe that much could have been improved upon, however, so I'm not giving you a ten. The controls were a little awkward, as for some reason my mind was having trouble mapping numbers to actions; with the alternative being to use the mouse, which is also for movement, I had to go with it. The AI was also a little... off. I found very little point in splitting, as if I raced to get the protein, then they didn't, and if I try to let them have it, an enemy will. The little blighters just ended up being eaten (lending aid to my enemy) like there was no tomorrow. Ignoring splitting, however, I found that everything seemed to work pretty smoothly. The spike power-up, however, seemed a bit overpowered to me. The addition of viruses was a nice twist. Also, as a side-effect, they turned the 'split' power into a useful power. If you are in danger of getting infected, you can put half your eggs in a different basket.

Overall, pretty good for a somewhat experimental game, and definitely worth the time to play and review. I would also like to see what you could do with a sequel.

HeroInteractive responds:

Hey Eagle0600. First of all, thanks for noticing the lack of Sporeness in this game. A lot of people HAVE been comparing the two games which is really like comparing apples and bananas. Second, thanks for all of your positive feedback. We're not planning a MK2 right now but we'll definitely keep all of your thoughts and ideas in mind for future games and/or if we DO decide to do more with this game.
