Reviews for "Winter at the Castle"

Pretty good

I am not a music critic but i know what i like and listen to a lot of soundtracks so i know this style fairly well. I have to start with the vocals, they are very well done at the beginning. They were quiet enough not to distract from the instruments but they loud enough to compliment and accent the tone nicely. The part at 2:21 when they came in for a moment was kind of discordant, which im not a fan of but its an artistic choice and personal preference.

I also personally feel that the sudden change at 1:30 kind of killed the mood, though it was recovered decently at 1:56.

All in all I think you give yourself too little credit with your comment of "Thanks! I'm nothing really.. My music is probably not even worth listening to compared to other people's music." There are a few different places that I could see different parts of movie soundtracks that would tie in almost perfectly here. The main one that comes to mind is "Chronicles of Narnia, the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" done by Harry Gregson-Williams. The part that really grabbed me was from 1:10-1:30 which sounded like part of "Evacuating London". Keep it up, you are doing well. And if for some reason you dont like this style, which you say is a new try for you, then find the style that moves you. Almost gaurenteed you will move others too.

Bosa responds:

I actually contacted Harry-Gregson Williams a couple of days ago concerning music.

But thank you for the insightful review. I appreciate your opinion, although I cannot agree that my music is superior to anyone else. I actually think I'm the worst composer this site has to offer.

I'm rather new to reviewing classical music but I could say that this one is rather beautiful. I especially like the melody and lead and how they comment each other in a dream/fantasy way, but the uplift all of a sudden is a little too fast for me (just me). I hope to hear more pieces like this in the list of classical music.

Bosa responds:

You will! I plan to submit something soon that I believe will be rather... surprising.

awesome

Whatever you did, you did it right. You said in your review that you tried something new and whatever it was, worked for this track. The little story was a pretty nice image to think of as well when i was listening to the track. very nice, very nice indeed.

Bosa responds:

Thank you, kind sir! You should check out some of my other tracks including my newest one!
