Reviews for "The Necronomicon 2.0"

uve got urself a series here!!

game is worthy of more sequels but like it needs more cards then maybe introduce ways to customize ur own decks n shit (card shop maybe ) i dunno. i like how updated the art. and new soggoth is pretty bad ass.

Good but...

The art and control are all very good. The only thing keeping it from a 10 is that when an opponent plays a card, it disappears before you can really read what it is. You get the effects of it, but don't know what caused them.

Plowking74 responds:

Cheers, glad you like the game. I found that when I actually had the opp cards up long enough, the number one complaint was that the game became too slow and annoyed tons of people. I agree about the speed, but when you get familar with the cards it's no longer a problem. But if it was slowed down, it'd always be a problem.

I'd play this IRL, without question.

A lovely, addicting, unspeakably evil game. I'm glad I had the forewarning of other reviewers who were sucked into it for hours on end so that I could conscientiously quit after about half an hour. I'm still working on getting good enough at the game to make the challenges fun instead of frustrating... that will come...

Anyway, I think the only way to make this better would be to add more cards and make the decks customizable. Of course, that would be an enormous project; as a humble flash game, this does quite well.

Finally, a note at the reviewer below: it's not a bug. Mad Experiment has one random effect from the four listed, not all four. It would be incredibly overpowered otherwise, even at the expense of your sanity.

good

Only thing I have to complain about is the challenges: strategically they're not very challenging, but starting from number 7 they're just impossible unless you get good cards. I'd suggest fixing this by giving same starting hand each time.

great game

I've been a general Cthulhu Mythos fan for quite some time. Combine that with the stragetic aspect and I found a game I will be playing for quite some time. Great job.
