Reviews for "The Rise of a KING"

Kinda liked it

You sould make a sequal you made me play it all night!

SeethingSwarm responds:

This IS the sequel :)
Glad you liked it so much!

Decient game

I enjoyed it

SeethingSwarm responds:

Nice!

i didnt like it

it was boring mostly through the whole game is just running around really no fighting in the game sorry for saying but you can improve the game i like the graphics and his spells but not enough fighting in it over all you did a good job on the game.

SeethingSwarm responds:

Sorry you didnt like it. You'll find lots of fighting everywhere once you exit the castle and explore the game-world...

Refreshing!

I don't know exactly what you did to make me sit through the whole game... but I guess it was a couple hours well spent. I liked the Zelda feel from the NES side-scroller, the townsfolk were similarly useless in that game :)

Some of the things I really liked:
- Style of graphics
- Side-Scroller meets RPG/Adventure is always fun
- Music was pretty good/appropriate
- Equipment you can "see"
- Good size maps, not too big, not too small
- Random Encounter AI
- General Concept / Storyline (but I use that word loosely)
- Animations (strong attack, enemy deaths, magic spells)

Some of the things that could have been greatly improved upon:
- difficulty of attaining new items (maybe some could be from "quests")
- holding up basically makes you invincible
- "Everyone's dead but you. Even tho you have been a total dick, and called every wizard in the land 'useless', you're the new King" ----- Ugh, need I say more?
- amount of available equipment
- more side-quests utilizing the additional caves/maps
- more variety in the AI

All in all, it's not the first side-scroller with RPG elements that I've played since the second Zelda game on NES... but it is one of the better ones! I really hope you keep your future titles as simple in game play, but add more depth to the story, quests, and equipment, and all analogous elements of games from other genres. I'm sure you know what I mean :)

SeethingSwarm responds:

Yeah I know what you mean, and thanks for all the ideas and suggestions!

You aren't making a third???

Disappointing.

Only because these things tend to come as great trilogies! You've evidently listened to some of the feedback players had to offer on the first and given consideration in this version. Smoothly executed!

The game was highly playable. The graphics were very nice (I guess a little repetitive but that's to be expected) and the story was excellent. Music complemented things nicely and I loved the addition of upgrades to armour and weapons. I felt pretty unstoppable by the end.

Really nicely done and very impressive. Can't wait to see what you're working on next if you consider it much better!

SeethingSwarm responds:

Thanks!

Currently working on a couple of things. One of them will probably be much more simple and just a fun quick game, hopefully. The other one, well... let's see :)
