Reviews for "Knight of the Dead"

it was ok

fun for a little bit, but mediocre if you ask me. the character moves way to slow and the game doesnt blend very well

wasn't.... bad

It was okay. But if it didn't have the upgrade system it would be HORRABLE. But it really could be alot better.

I thought it was pretty cool

I actually kinda liked this game. It's not complicated and it's very simple. The graphics were really smooth and nice to look at. The only thing that I could actually complain about is the movement. It was a little too slow for me but other than that this is a really nice game. I would like to see you make game with levels that was more than just a side-scrolling level though, with a few more obstacles, that would be fun. I saw someone complaining about there being no pause button, it's the esc button people. Good work Groagy, I hope to see more from you.

poor design, good production

The bells and whistles are nice, but the game itself brings nothing new to the table. Okay, you can hit the zombie with your shield while blocking, so you basically can't lose. Okay, your weapon can be upgraded. Okay, you have amulets that may randomly do something marginally useful.

The fact is, there's no strategy to killing the same bland set of enemies over and over, much less to picking upgrades. I could accept this if the game was focused on action rather than strategy, but it's way, way too slow paced to be entertaining in that respect. The zombies are slow, the knight walks slow, he swings his sword slow (and kind of awkwardly), and he can't even jump high and far enough to avoid picking up an item.

You should redesign this game with more innovative ideas for enemies and more options for the player. Even more importantly, make the game more fast paced and make the character more dynamic. Keep the art, because that's pretty good.

Not bad

It's an okay game, it could have had better controls and more weapons, but I've seen worse. More of a variation in enemies would have been nice, and maybe more attacks like a jump slash or something. The character could have been faster and a pause button would have been nice. Still, interesting to see a zombie game set in a different time period, personally always thought it would be interesting to see them in the Civil War era or something. There's room for improvment, but it's not bad.

Groady responds:

Thanks for the feedback... The escape key is the pause button. It clearly states this under the 'how to' section.
