Reviews for "NGHH - Fat Beats vs HeavyUrb"

NGHH BATTLE #1

Fatbeats:
I liked his sinister sound. His flow was alight; had nice energy.
His first verse was very difficult to understand though; maybe if he mixed his verses a lil better this wouldn't be as much of a problem (by the 2nd verse it was batter though) I can't knock him for his accent, I listened to his verses a couple time to get most of it.

HeavyUrb:
I liked his unorthodox vocabulary and his mixing trick were refreshing (the skttt! cv radio thing was interesting). His verses were more audible than Fatbeats. Urbs flow needs some work though; I think this could be remedied by memorizing/practicing his lyrics a lil more, it sounds like he's a lil uncomfortable on some flows.

I'm gonna give this one to HeavyUrb, the line: "Let me critique you for one, you lack emotion all I could hear is jibberish in motion" That line made me laugh. I did enjoy listening to Fatbeats though, his flow was crazy, but when the words don't catch, it doesn't matter how cool the flow is.

Props to both Fatbeats and HeavyUrb; keep at it gentlemen.

Hmmm...

Not digging Fat Beats flow at all, or voice, or delivery... Sounds VERY mediocre.

Unfortuantely, I'm not really feeling HeavyUrb either, so this is a really difficult decision for me.

Fat Beats is too quiet in a way, I don't like the flow and the voice is quite annoying in a way. BUT, he still has my vote.

Heavy Urb's flow is quite a bit off, or maybe his voice is just way too loud over the beat, making it hard to tell. Lots of his lines seemed slurred and it sounds as if he had difficulty pronouncing them or something.

So Fat Beats has my vote this round.

Step it up

I'm going to go with Fat Beats on this one. Though his 1st verse was muddled and barely understandable, there was much improvement in his 2nd verse. HeavyUrb's verses were both sloppy and just lazy, I didn't feel any real passion behind them.

umm...

It's hard to tell whats worse FatBeats or HeavyUrb but ima go with FatBeats, Im not here just to moan but FatBeats is let down by his quiet voice + quality, his 2nd verse is a lot better and towards the end his flow fits very well with his lyrics.

Heavy Urb has a voice that sounds good at rapping although his flow sounds just wack to me. Lyrics were ok but.. just doesnt go well with the beat.

Overall both rappers were pretty terrible (sorry) FatBeats should try and rap harder and raise his voice. Whereas HeavyUrb should work with his flow.

All in all FatBeats (although fatbeats im the King British rapper on newgrounds)

A good effort.

Rather than be completely negative, these are my neutral opinions.

Flow: Fat Beats 10, Heavy Urb: 9
Fat Beats was more consistent emotional and technical, but I had appreciation for Heavy Urb's attempt at variation of cadence. The main issue I had with Heavy Urb is that there were some really awkward plugs that made it sound like it wasn't done in one take. If you're going to do plugs, it needs to sound consistent with the previous parts.

Attack: 10-10
The first verse goes to HeavyUrb because he focused in on FatBeats where FatBeats was talking more about himself in the first verse. I understand it's hard when you're starting a battle, but you do the research and hit it from jump. The second round FatBeats stepped up with the rebuttals and put Heavy Urb on the defensive, and some of his responses weren't as powerful as they could be.
I get that "playing the reciprocal" means he's a pussy, but it just doesn't hit quite as hard as it needs to.

In summary, I've gotta give this to Fat Beats. I feel like overall both rappers would improve by really focusing on hitting every beat instead of just getting through the line and then being on beat for the last rhyming word. I'm not gonna worry about production quality. We can't all afford home studios.
