Reviews for "Ancillary"

Solid game marred by poor design decisions

Contrary to other reviewers, I do not think the gameplay itself is boring or so redundant that it cannot stand on it's own as an enjoyable game.

That's the good news.

Here's the bad:

Your responses to other reviewers are very inadequate. The links to other game sites need to be removed from the playing area, period. Telling people that you're sorry they didn't enjoy the game isn't helpful. Editing your upload for necessary changes is.

Additional information about the upgrades would be helpful. It's simple enough to understand that a damage upgrade will provide it's namesake. But I have no idea if I want to spend my very sparse, rationed points on sonic displacement, disruption shields, and bounties since you provide no documentation on what they do.

Suomaf responds:

I believe I've listed everything you need to know about the upgrades in the 'Upgrades Tab'. (Located on the main menu in the Instructions sub-categories)
Thank you for taking your time to review.

Well...

It's not that original... just another defense game with money-GRINDAN upgrades.

The biggest problem I really have with this, though, is that clickable logo you put in the firing area that is easy to forget about... thus while in the middle of playing you get a new window popping up out of nowhere because you have horrible placement choices (and don't give me that "DURR-HURR PRESS SPAEC" nonsense you gave the last guy that complained about this. It's a valid complaint).

Suomaf responds:

Yes it is another defence game, and features the basic gameplay style as the majoridy. Obviously I should have added an "on/off" feature for displaying the in-game links.
Note: You may click and hold, you do not need to click every time to fire.
I thank you for taking the time to review, and am sorry that you did not enjoy the game.

nothing new

The game is nothing unique to start with. You control a turret and shoot the bad guys who come from the sky. So what special does this remake #984390520 offer? Nothing unfortunately :P.

On top of that, the upgrades are pretty depressive. For example the accuracy, you got like 100-200 credits and it increases your accuracy 1% for 25 credits. Other upgrades were about equally depressive. So I bought increase in damage, I'm not feeling it when shooting the aliens. You know what I mean? So what if the damage is increased a little, if I don't feel it while shooting the enemies, it equals to nothing. It makes a dull game even duller.

In conclusion, this game has not even a drop of originality to it and a gameplay that puts you to sleep. The high score is quite surprising. I was expecting more from the game when I saw the score.

Where's the instructions???

I'm not talking about the controls or the general 'point-and-shoot' directions.
I'm talking about guidelines for the challenge portions of the game. How many enemies exactly do you have to kill for Fortitude and Endurance for example? Fortitude is frustratingly easy to lose, and it would help a lot if I had some sort of goal other than "Don't get shot a single time" :PPP
It's an okay, but done to death premise. The gameplay is rather monotonous as well.
As already stated, the placement of the external links is incredibly annoying.

WTF!

i got about five seconds into the games and then it paused and "godlygames.com" popped up. i exited out of it but it wouldn't unpasue no matter how many times i pressed the unpause button! SUX!
