I don't know what I just read,
But it seemed pretty thorough, 10/10 for you. The one problem though is the part where you press esc to pause. If you press escape, the resume button stays in the same place for the rest of the flash.

DEFNITLY IN THE TUTORIAL COLLECTION

flash 8, CS3, CS4
amazingly helpful
why cant ppl make more tutorials like this?
Great tut!
Haha im actually using this at home for my flash based game design class but i am having one problem. When you are creating a hit test in order to make barriers do you have to have another movieclip? When you say borders (this._y-=4. etc) where exactly do you put them. Been trying to figure this out all morning and its really ticking me off. I have my test movieclip moving around the screen but cant create a working hit test.
