Reviews for "Anaksha: Female Assassin"

gr8

reminiscent of the russian general lvl of hitman 2, except this one is actually possible without running in and killing al the guards.

... you've confused me...

The game itself was okay... the graphics were good (all the people where basically the same)... target descirptions were fairly detailed, but still left you guessing at the target... (that one stopped by the window, I'll shoot him in the face is a very poor selection method).

The Ai was dumb in a few obvious ways... "I'll just step over my dead commrade and continue with my day, do di do" and certain loads of a levels were impossible to complete (a target has cover for their entire journey)

The targeting different areas of the head was interesting, but a headshot needs to actually hit square and something vital for maximum effect.... the jaw, the eye, clipping the edge isn't likely a killshot.

What I found most frustrating was that for most of the game you kill 'criminals' who have no real impact on society in order to fix society... aside from the serial killer, the clut leader, the human trafficer, and the meth story, None of the others had anything to do with harming society.

Now you claim that this is not twisted in a feminist way. On your website you stated that it was because you were too lazy to animate women. But seriously every target is accused of abusing women, every single one. You don't just have to be a crooked cop selling meth to kids, your also a rapist crooked cop selling meth to kids.

"There's more to being a vigilante than killing wife beaters." who are you kiddn.

If you wanted a more, "we're fixing society" feel you should make targets things that actually harm society, not just small groups of people. Drug dealers, gangs, organized crime, political corruption this is was I was expecting. Bob who got drunk, slept with a hooker, then went home and slapped his wife is what I got.

Oh and the 'boss'... if I can shot the suitcase after I killed him, why can I not shoot the suitcase before I kill him??

Game 8/10
Story 2/10 (unbelievable, lead I couldn't identify with (seriously falling apart because of one news story that contridicts the likely thorourgh research in target selection and you fall apart??))

(This has great potential, I recommend flipping through some Punisher comics for some story ideas.)

ArifRocks responds:

"because you were too lazy to animate women". - If you knew how much work was involved with animating these models, you wouldn't say that!

Great story - good gameplay

Great story, I really like the characters and the plot. The idea of the different zones of the head making it splattered in different ways and then making it part of the goals is really good. But I would have liked a little bit of interaction. That it gets mentioned in TV, if you decapitate all cops and not only the boss or stuff like that.

I'm still in awe...

from this game, I finished it a few minuets ago - and before I continue this review, congratulations on making such an awesome, wonderful game.

The story was the only thing that put it down, it was amateur and a little too predictable, although - I enjoyed how you linked different parts of the story together, even though it was quite a basic storyline - it had a nice flow that made it brilliant.

The gameplay was fantastic, I love playing games like this - and out of all the shooter games I've played on Newgrounds, this would be one of the best ones I've played in a while, it wasn't just a 'pew pew pew' - it made me think about each level carefully to know who to execute :-)

I adore the artwork, I'm a sucker for noir and comic types of artwork, and you managed to pull it off with a bang, you nailed it well, there was nothing wrong with the artwork, it was simply perfect.

Overall, this game is perfect - I'd recommend it for anyone who likes shooters and are into a great storyline. It's that wonderful, it's going straight on my favourites, I can't wait to see other projects from you, and if possible a sequel.

Good work!

I'm waiting for the next one.

While your current fanbase is right, and the game accidentally reeks of favoritism and some bad game design choices, there's also nothing preventing a perfect score. It's clean, clear tac. shooting more crisp than breakfast hashbrowns and suberb audio cues on both gunshots and musical effects. There are, of course, some massive improvements you could make.

First of all, the one everyone has been clamoring about should be restated for importance- even if you /have/ already realized the accidental fem-nazi effect you created in the Virgo killer.

Second and the rest are gameplay choices. Every shot save the last and one of the middle mission was nothing more than "line up head, fire." I had more fun figuring out to shoot the __ and __ to end those special missions, and I think your vigilante would enjoy blasting the private parts, hearts, and livers of potential targets as well. Everyone's wearing body armor but there's still impact damage to deal with and all but medieval metal plating is going to stop somebody from being dropped like a sack of bricks if you hit them in the legs with a high powered sniper rifle loaded with custom ammunition from a distance of, assuming this game's normal distance, 150 or so yards- kevlar or not.

Third, you need different timings for the victim appearances. Every single mission without fail, the target wasn't onscreen for the first 10 or so seconds. It got to the point where I only checked the edges for the targets and never the centers. There's nothing stopping a mission from having just a description and a room of 25 or so where the challenge is not in timing but in identification before say 30-60 seconds are up, or perhaps a tiered puzzle as such where one shot in that situation on a light fixture or a purposeful miss to scare the others lines up the correct target.

I honestly look forward to the next one because this one was great and even just another of it would be fun to play let alone one with actual improvement.
