Very Good
It is a very good game, and i see potential for it. However it lacks music. BGM would have made this game more enjoyable. Also, if the enemies are going to remain dead after you die, then there is no point in going back to the Checkpoint after dying. Just have the main char spawn one screen back or invulnerable on the same screen.

Quite nice.
Nothing new, really but still a nice game. maybe you want to work on the shooting animations a little and perhaps the dying animation too.
Otherwise, good graphics simple and fun game. I kinda liked it. Ran slow on my compy though, sadly.

You should be allowed to respawn where you died instead of at checkpoints. If the enemies don't respawn when you die, all you basically do is walk back to where you were before. Game is fun though, not fast paced like metal slug though
