Reviews for "Quarantine Defender"

?????????

Music- sucked
I've never played a defense gam with a reticle that moved WTF
No AI Help
Upgrades are to Costly
Not enough Exp after each Wave

Really fun

This game is good but maybe you should make it where the upgrade effects and price are not so steep. I think that you should have made it where the upgrades and price increase at a more balanced rate. Like the first upgrade should be cost around 250 dollars and slightly increase the abillities of your gun. If you make another one you should do what I said and make things go up at a slight incline not a huge jump from one price to the next one.

horrible

you have a good idea but i believe that you should have a story line with it, also the upgrades where to highly priced, if the players could choose more than one weapons then that would be nice as well, i would also apriciate it if there were more than one soldier helping you, maybe you could add a few bosses here-n-there, try again dude

Great!

It was really fun, easy yet challenging - I don't see why people complain that much about the upgrades - yes, they're expensive but they do a whole lot of difference! You're turned from the small town sheriff to Arnold himself! So don't whine about it costing 750 exp, you'll get it soon enough and then the next 750 exp will come even sooner, until you have everything you need.
A tip to the author would be to make some more upgrades for when you reach the higher levels (25-30), when I had all the upgrades purchasable, I had only repaired my wall 2-3 times, so I got myself a whole lot of exp with which I could do nothing. What I would've liked is some big time upgrades (and not too serious, as you already have all the physically possible achievements at that point). Like;
Bouncing bullets - You thought you just killed a guy? You killed two!
Overdose - Who said drugs were bad for you?
QuickClip - Half the time - Twice the pain!
Army Supply Clip - 6 bullets are for weaklings...
Aimbot - This is what you've been waiting for
Die Another Day - Take a beating, who cares?
These would be upgrades to Damage, Fire Rate, Reload Speed, Ammo Capacity, Accuracy and a permanent hp increase on the wall (to 250 hp, perhaps?). An upgrade would be around 4000-5000 exp each, and I guess you could figure out what each one does. If you'd like, you could do something similar with the airstrike, maybe with a long duration or an extra feature, such as dropping repair tools or something that would repair 20 hp or similar on the wall, each time you used it.
A last thing would be to fix the spelling errors, or let someone else do it if you're not sure on what's wrong and what's not.

Too many Problems to be a good game...

Given this game is about a Single Person killing off people trying to flee from a Quarantine Zone, The obvious Idea is that there should be a creepy or Eerie Aura. The Dark and Depressing Music helped to fill this in, as well as the fact that you are alone during the entire game, No voices nor Help except for a fleeting Inhuman Airstrike. That's done well so far...
Then, I realize that the Song doesn't change. This would be alright but the song is a bit too powerful to be constant throughout the entire game. This goes for the Background as well, the sunny green landscape does little to add to the eerieness of killing off the Quarantined.
That piece of artsy review out of the way, about the gameplay...
I didn't have a problem with the gameplay itself...but rather the progression. Unless you are incredibly skilled at killing off every last enemy before they can reach your wall, you'll spend the majority of the game repairing it. The Upgrades to your weapon and airstrike are so expensive that When I had tried to upgrade my weapon, It caused the next wave to destroy what remained of my wall and break through.
Yet even when you do repair the wall, it's always a constant 500 Experience points. Even if you have 99/100, to repair would cost 500 Experience. It was so costly that I started to gamble with wether or not I could make it through a few more hits before repairing.
It doesn't sound like that big of a deal, but a few gamers may find it impossible to beat the later levels without upgrades, and for the rest the game will be the same throughout the entire 30 waves.
Serious flaws, and I wouldn't find it enjoyable unless there was some way of fixing either the high cost of repairing the wall or the high cost of Upgrading the weapon.
