I give you a steak competition.
It starts out well, but eventually as you go down the stands...you realize...It's all steak...There's nothing special about it anymore.
For those that are about to Press the "X" for my review, please read through it first.
The series was fun, I like defense games, and I liked this one...but as you move down the line...It's just same thing...At this point, it feels like a copy and paste fiesta...
So you have a hero (Like your previous games) that you can upgrade (although whats new is the talent tree?) via some "talents" and you get to choose where to go...and some new weapons etc.
It wasn't...bad...it wasn't good...It's somewhere between bad and good because we've all seen this before, and we know how it's like. The graphics were always borderline for me (as with most defense games cause you can't make a 2D game look fantastic from a BOV). The talent tree was a tad...complex, it felt a little busy all clustered up in that one "open window". Maybe you can add a new window for it, a new screen even...Atm I feel it's a bit too busy and I can't find my way to click around this and that...><
Heroes themselves have turned dull. Sure they each have interesting stats, but all i have to do is plant one behind my rows and rows of incrediably 'leet' towers and watch them sink in the cash. Booya. After 2-3 maps of doing this ...it clicked..."This is really not that great". Even as I tried to spread the towers around and run my hero around...s/he just basically did the same no matter what...I donno it gets a little boring especially at this stage of the "series".
Another thing is the series itself. Going back to my "steak competition" thought, it was great the first time it came out, your last game I thought was decent but now I'm kinda at the end of the tasting booths and my mouth just had one too many bites of red meat...I think we need something new, something fresh. As much as you'd like to change how you cook, your still either grilling, steaming, or baking it in the oven...it just depends what herbs or spices or other wise you add onto the steak that makes it taste good - you know?
Try something different...I didn't see any real improvement and didn't really think the series was going to do any "improvement' with this game.
