Reviews for "Star Fox: Loopy Battle"

Good choice of flash

Thats a nice change to see a flash about Star Fox, from the Nintendo 64 right?.

Graphics.8/10 The cartoony look is a great choice of all, the charaters looked really good. Epsecially the Star Fox. The space look is a cool, the subtitles are good. The Donky Kong looked ,well done. The outline of them is good ,although not as detailed as it could have been.

Sound.8/10 The sound again of high standard the voice acting, is top notch. I found the accents were very good, and the dialogue strong mostly. Not perfect but it did the job.

This is a very entertaing story the interaction, betweeen the charaters good. The coversation good. The action is fast and i found, the cliff hanger good. A bit sudden but a good ending.

The only problem was the storry did drag in parts ,it lost some of the excitment of the beginning. Maybe it was because it to much dialogue ,and not enough action. Also it ended a bit quickly.

Overeall i cant wait for the next part.

MCYoshi responds:

Yeah this one has quite a bit of dialogue. I was trying to figure out how to shorten it and still get the points and messages across, but did have much luck with that. Anyway thanks for the review.

Not Too Bad

Well the graphics whern't too bad although they did look traced, they did also look like they lacked a bit of charactor to them. The voice acting was very clear and everything which was good and you had subtitles to them which fit in with the whole flash as well as being easy to read, though parts of the voice acting could be improved like the part where he said "Whoa", that sounded to lack charactor.

The animation was okay but some parts just seemed a little off, like the looping movement of the ships, seemed to kind of jerk in a way. But most parts of the animation seemed to be okay and the mouth movment was pretty decent but it did need more work on facial expressions, they just looked expressionless.

3/5

MCYoshi responds:

The reason my work sometimes looks as though it's traced is I always use a picture of a character as reference and basically draw that character in that exact pose. That way I have proportions correct, etc. Usually I'll then draw heads and other things at the different angles that are necessary for the animation. This takes a long time to draw in flash however. Fox's complete body took over two hours in just the one pose, so I usually try to go for the least amount of drawings as possible.
Yes, there wasn't too much going on with facial expressions mainly to save time. I was trying to get this done in a week, ended up taking a little bit longer.
I guess I can see a 3/5 score for someone who's not a fan of Star Fox or even Nintendo general, though that is the audience this movie was made for so not too much I can change there. My next project however is for a much larger audience so maybe you would enjoy that. Anyway thanks for the review.

Good job.

Animation/Graphics - I'm really starting to enjoy your movies and I hope you start too make many more of them. I really like your style of animation so keep up the good work. Just like your last movie I reviewed there wasn't really anyway to improve the animation at all.

Story - Great humor and it kept me entertained throughout the entire thing. I just had a feeling that the loop at the end was going to happen before it actually did though. Good job here.

Audio - Good music, sound effects, and voice overs. Nothing really more to say about that.

Overall, a great job and I'm looking forward to your future animations.

MCYoshi responds:

Thanks a lot. I'm glad you see the work I put into my movies. It's great to know there are those who truly enjoy them.

Actually made me laugh!

Wow-- For a second, I thought you were being serious. I love when people make fun of how the video games act-- Like the overused 'Woah!' thing-- And that wasn't even the joke of the whole movie. The loopy thing looked sorta stupid at first, but then I eventually laughed. Good job, happy to know you'll have more.

MCYoshi responds:

Yeah I'm surprised at some of the first people who reviewed this who seemed to think this was serious. The voice acting and other such things are purposely bad to make fun of the games.

this is cool

the space background could have looked better than that... but I thought this was hilarious! I use to love playing star fox 64 for the N64. This brings back old memories. Nicely put together movie. Voice acting was good and graphics were drawn well.
