Reviews for "Doodle Defender 2"

Still amazing

// START REVIEW

0. Hello.

1. Good Points:
* Interactivity - high-level of customization which opens up near limitless possibilities for the visual environment. (again)
* Gameplay - easy to use and highly entertaining, people of all ages can gather around and play this game for hours. (again)
* GFX - staying true to the theme of drawing on paper is admirable. (again)
* SFX - the music and sfx are very extensive, nice touch. (again)
* Cannon Positioning. I was kind of caught off-guard by this feature. A pleasant surprise.
* Collision Detection. The addition of this is a definite plus from the first one.
* Bomb. Cool addition, definitely something that lacked from the first one.

2. (Not so) Good Points:
* AI - (still) the AI don't prove much of a challenge and the graphic is rather simplistic and very taxing to look at in a long game.
* Cheat - still an unnecessary evil but still might be pretty entertaining to some who seek to upgrade while only on the second level.
* Collision Detection. Fairly new, meaning there is still a few bugs with regards to this feature.

3. Good day.

cheats dont work

pritti cool game, but the cheats dont work

Generally good - improvements possible

It's a fun game to waste time with and the custom ship drawing is a great idea, but I have a few suggestions.

Firstly, an inertia system? Like if you're in a real spaceship or something, and turn hard, you'd swing round without changing your movement heading. I'd like that for tracking the enemies easier. At the moment if you turn at high speed you still get perfect on-rails grip and make a U-turn.

Also the bullets are a bit slow, imo. It's frustrating to have to devote so much attention to leading the enemy with the bullets.

Lastly I know it's a doodle ship you're meant to be flying but you know mice. How about a line tool, or a togglable snap grid or something.

Really cool idea :D.

Really good work on this. There's a few flaws, for one the randomizer for the level design sometimes places bombs right in front of entrances >.<. It's nice the super bomb destroys them but it would be nicer if there was a inexpensive way to get rid of them ,perhaps give them a ton of hit points and vulnerable to lasers, or add a tool to the shop that can remove traps after several hits from it.

Also there's an odd glitch I encountered when adding a second cannon, where I had drawn my little cannon in the middle of the box, but after hitting space for the placement it was about a inch to the left from the right spot 0.o.

Lastly it is a bit too easy, though I enjoy a casual game myself, but perhaps you can add easy and medium difficulties in the next one, wherein the medium difficulty has a "pencil lead" meter, akin to a energy meter in some other shooting games, limiting how much you can shoot. It would recharge by itself but force the player to be careful with their shots. That's all my own suggestions, but whatever you choose to do, I look forward to the next version! ^^.

lol, like to draw my ship in a dick shape
