Surprisingly good.
I myself am not a major fan of the Metal Slug series, but I did find this a pretty good game. I enjoyed it quite a bit, but my only suggestion is that you add in something that will boost the replay value. Other than that, it was pretty good, and quite interesting.

Being a guy that bought the big Metal slug package for PS2 and then proceded to grind through every single one. I can say that this barely missed that frantic pace that kept me glued to the series. However you did get the feel of MS down pretty well, your controls were pretty responsive, and I didn't mind the difficulty. So good job, I suggest a grenades system, multiple weapons, and a better sound track. I hope this helps you out, and good luck in your future releases!

it's a nice game but...
-i beat it on my first try
-pistol is very slow(compared to the real MS one, i believe it fires as fast as you can press the button)
-no grenades? or weapon pick ups? no vehicles?
it's a nice core you can build on i guess since this is your first game

but some controls like the european (especially german) key settings were cool. i dont like to change the OS-settings just 4 thegame.
and i dont like to break my fingers, because my Z is on the other side of my keyboard....-.-
