Reviews for "OrbAttack"

uughhhh

it was kool but a lil too hard to handle
and those red balls be coming outta everywhere it gets crowed and hard to get around

Too Fast?

This isn't a bad concept for a game, but the controls really killed it for me. With the slightest touch of the arrow keys that little ball takes off like a rocket, making it easy to slam right into a faraway enemy when all you really want to do is evade a nearby one. Having all that speed at your disposal is completely unnecessary when your opponents are slow, and your maneuvering room so very limited, it only serves to make the game more difficult than it should be.

My proposed solution: If you want the ball to move that fast, than this sort of game should really be controlled by mouse instead of arrow keys.

Nothing special.

It's not exactly new, is it?
Nothing made it original. None of the game made me think "Ooh, this is different."
Same old "control a ball" with the typical "dodge reds and collect power ups."
Survive as long as you can.
I know that you said your goal was to create a simple game, and you did that, but it was just TOO simple.

Decent

Lest start with the good shall we? [too bad because we are]
1.Decent look sprites
2.Nice controls
3.I knew what i was doing the whole time

BAD....
1.Background, very dull and why was it grass lol?
2.The game was very closed in. You should have made the stuff smaller
3.The enemies were very simple and all were the same.

I know this is your first game, so dont say some stupid stuff about that. It is not an excuse. It is a game and we are playing it just like we are playing other games that could have been made by verterans or noobs. Doesnt matter, still needs work.

Not bad, but not good.

This flash is nicely put together; if this is indeed your first serious production, great job, and I hope to see more (and more ambitious) projects from you in the future.

However, reviewers really need to look at what each vote actually means. A score of 2 is "Nothing too new or interesting." That describes this flash exactly; there's just not enough and not sufficiently unique stuff in the game for it to earn anything higher. Just because there isn't anything WRONG with a game doesn't earn it a 4/5 and certainly not a 9/10. Those high need to be saved for games that are really special so people can find them when they search.

When uninteresting games hit front page just because they have no distinct errors, we've got a problem.
