Crashland sadly ended up crashing
Wonderful sense of those old days platforms with a cute character we completely cant relate too but didn't stop us playing till our thumbs grew sore helping them. The character was of simple design but it was more then enough for me, as i was playing for a least a good 10mins and 5 cores found later.
Graphics weren't anything fancy but they fit the genre. Roaming enemies could have used a bit more personality and variety in types. Health was placed around in generous amounts, perhaps a little too much. Very few times did my health bar fall under half, and that was just usually a case of my recklessly getting around. The jumping noise. Cute, works, but starts to grind at you in this jump heavy game.
This was all sadly undone by a couple of flaws in your game. In one of the red rock stages you weren't able to take the left exit because it planed you into a wall on the next screen, and subsequently sent you back to the previous screen. Another flaw crashed my game out for all intensive purposes. At the very start, if you jump on the spaceship and off the screen to the left, you basically get trapped in a non-working limbo. Dont know why you didn't just block that area off away from being able to jump there, but explorers will get anywhere you allow them.
I thought this was a cute, fun, addictive game. It was an enjoyable ten minutes worth of mindless entertainment and i'd recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the older arcade platforms. Incorporation of bonuses per collecting each crystal to speed up finding the others might be a next look at. Thank you for the game.
