Really nice, although a little linear
This really reminded me a lot of the old LucasArts adventure games. God, I miss those... The detecive theme in particular made me yearn for the old Sam `n Max game.
I liked this game a lot, though my only criticism would be that it feels a bit linear. I like games that don`t force you to restart for every stupid mistake, but more puzzles (like the rope/crate/ship one) and arcade sequences (like the photo snapping) would make it feel more interactive.
But still, small complaints against the overall goodness of this submission. Nice!
