Reviews for "Alone"

Damnit all.

Just when I have completely written off the Portal as a worthless junkyard of stick figures some complete ASSHOLE goes and produces something beautiful. Annoyingly stunning to watch, with some of the most poigniant sequences since "the Bard." Curse you for being good at this!

ZellsBells responds:

Yeah, I am a real bitch like that. sorry! ^_^

nice

REAL sweet to look at.... but it's boaring... couldn't even watch the whole thing yo!

sweeeet

Very nice. There aren't many good dramas on the Portal these days. I can't wait to see more.

very good

This story was basic, yet very complex. Proboly one of the few drama - type flashes that has been good. Oh, and if u make more, make them show how the chick died.

Not Bad...But Not Great

The art and animation are pretty top-notch, but there is a huge lacking in the substance department. All we get is a dying girl for no reason, a mention of "unique powers", and an abrupt ending. The poor .gifs didn't help it either. I would've liked to see and know more dealing with these characters. They are the reason for making the Flash, mind you. Without story and substance, there is just filling. I don't mean to be harsh or mean, but I would like to see someone with your talent to churn out much better quality animations, rather than plot-less mediocrity.

ZellsBells responds:

There -is- more story, as I've mentioned to other reviewers. I used . gifs all of maybe four times in the animation... I find it hard to believe that it really drug down the quality that much!

The following is a message from the story's writer...
"I understand your concerns about the sparseness of the background plot. Understand that this story was meant for people who 'knew' the character, and thus understood what was going on. I never expected it to be adapted to any other medium, in any case.

As for the plot development.. this was, after all, our 'test animation', to see if our storytelling skills were up to the task of a longer series. The responses we get determine whether or not we'll consider creating the series (answer so far seems to be yes).. namely, whether or not it is worth our time. Making something even this long requires much effort.. and the next one will be much longer and detailed.

If you really, truly want to know more about the characters in question, you're welcome to stop by and play at Roland's Cavern. Perhaps one of -your- creations will make it into the next one!"
