A Flash-Powered Awkward Moment
ANIMATION: No complaints here, really. Everything moved well (although there wasn't much movement to judge in this Flash). No hiccups. Not much else to say here.
GRAPHICS AND STYLE: This Flash appears to go after a Family Guy- type look. It's simple, yet colorful and smooth. Nothing deserving of a "Wow!" in this department. Don't get me wrong- the graphics are really, really good, but they don't test the limits of Flash or create something that I haven't seen before.
MUSIC AND SFX: The voice acting was pretty convincing for what this Flash aims to do- create an awkward moment with a literal spin on the "long face" expression. It was clear that there was a level of awkwardness in their voices that aimed to be realistic. It hit the mark, although there may have been one or two too many "um..."s. No music or predominant SFX to grade here.
PLOT AND SCRIPT: From what I see, this is a literal spin on the "long face" joke to create an awkward scene. You certainly got the awkward part right- I've been in situations like that before, and that's almost always how both sides react. This Flash focused on one joke for a bit of time- it reminds me of those random inserts in Family Guy that make the show so funny. However, this Flash only drew chuckles from me. The guy expounding on his condition did expand the awkwardness of the moment, but wasn't really entertaining.
ORIGINALITY AND INNOVATION: Interesting take on the "long face" expression. Other than that, I can't really think of anything else new that this brings to the table.
Verdict: 7/10. Good Flash short, and nice graphics; it's just not "Superb" in any area, and didn't feel like it stood out from the rest of the good Flash submissions.
