Drew Some Chuckles, But Fell Just Short In Areas
GOOD: You certainly hit some of the right spots with your spoof plot. I enjoy the Pokemon game series, and I found much of this to be quite accurate. Capitalizing on the Pokeball, the game mechanic, and Team Rocket was clever. I found it quite funny to watch, which accounts for the good rating considering the following...
BAD: The introduction sequence and words inserted here and there looked a bit sloppy and hastily drawn in. You had a few graphic pitfalls, as well. The furiously-drawn mouth and eyebrows and omitting of various details downgraded the quality of the visuals, which were otherwise colorful. The selected track was OK, but better SFX was needed. The voice acting fell a bit short of good quality, especially towards the ending montage. It wasn't ear-splittingly bad, but I did not like it, although I'll give you credit for trying out various inflections to be funny.
UGLY: That ending montage wasn't really funny, nor was it a good way to end the film. I know you intentionally limited yourself to one day, but it would have been much better (and possibly worth an extra star) if you had animated the end of his journey, such as the Elite 4 or something, drawing up a more creative montage covering what you don't have time to animate.
VERDICT: 6/10. Despite the numerous shortcomings, the short movie was entertaining. You do have a knack for spoofs. You just need to work on detail, voice acting, and animation skills, and you could reel off some good stuff.
