Reviews for "Stalingrad 2"

nope...

i find that it seems interesting at the beginning, but it gets fad after a while, and one cannot move from the first level, which gets really annoying. and the god damn planes wont die easily, even with like 20 double abrrelled turrets on the field

Several Bugs - Endless 1st Stage - Incomplete Game

First of all, when you try to demolish a factory it won't let you.....it simply won't let you highlight them. Not sure if the same applies to turrets, as I didn't try to demolish until the 34th wave and didn't feel like giving any of them up, it didn't show anything different over a turret though.....just gave me the radius and upgrade costs/stats so I don't think it would've worked there.

Secondly, you have all those faded missions like its a campaign, none of them are selectable so it seems you have to beat the first mission in order to unlock the next. Thats classic....problem is the first stage cannot be beaten. After the 29th wave (golden airplanes, +25 cash) I was down to 1 health but managed to hold out past the 32nd wave, but when it got to 33rd.......my turrets were killing enemies before they even came on screen, as if it had reverted to enemies from the 1st wave, soon after the same happened on 34th wave which seems to support my theory.......the first mission is endless.

Third, I've got about 15 turrets with the $50 upgrade purchased for each, they are all in covering fields of fire........why is it then, that when the gold airplanes show up they can barely kill half of them WITH over 30 of the double barreled turrets supporting them?! In previous waves, the airplanes come in a few at a time.....but the golden ones came in a huge cluster with superior armor, honestly I find that to be a bit on the "I'm not gonna let someone beat my game" bit of programming mindset.

Fourth, Enemy units rolling over your tanks even if YOUR tanks are bigger......at most they should block each other, with the 5th tank type (stalin tank) on Wave 32 I had enemies driving over 3 deep........that should NOT have been possible.

Fifth, "quit game" would not work on the in-game menu, at any time. "Pressing P" would not pause or even exit the menu as instructed, turning the sound effects off would turn both the music AND the sound effects off, whereas turning music off would also turn both of them off.

Sixth, once you started to get around 12 upgraded turrets (or more lesser turrets), had around wave 10 or higher units and/or had friendly tanks coming to your aid, the game would lag horribly getting worse with each wave and set of upgrades even on LOW QUALITY. To be quite honest, the only quality difference I saw was on the main menu when you can select the quality, it always seemed to be the same in game......low quality kept the shell discharges, the smoke, the impacts, etc.

Seventh, If you need to build factories in order to research a new unit or structure.....shouldn't it have to be completed before it counts towards your total? I would just lay down 10 structures and it would autolmatically count towards my factory total, on the research screen it also counted regardless if it was completed or not.

I have to say, I'm rather disappointed in the number of issues with this game coming from someone who has made other submissions, it makes me wonder if you even bothered to play it through yourself to check for problems before submitting. Had you done so, or had you even put in the comments to report any bugs and such so you could fix it (and maybe even remove it if it had too many, to get an accurate score on the finished product), I believe this would have gotten a nice NG award, made the frontpage and easily been placed in the "Defense Games" collection.

I sincerely hope you fix these issues so this game has a shot at what it can truly be, and earn you the respect you deserve for your efforts.

Really good game

I loved it, but why isn't it on ignat's name?

Good!

It's a good strategy game. It was a fine work.

I have to say that I suggest and improvement in the part where the requeriments for an upgrade are explained because I had problems to understand how it works, I was never sure if I had built enough factories.

Thx!!!

hrm

game play wasn't really different...why would you expect a shooter? i dont know what you did but it got all laggy without any real reason. nothing had a chance and it got boring cuz i had nothing to upgrade and nowhere to build. this was on the first stage. where's the extended interest?
