Ah, house

I gotta say, your groovy backgrounds and melodies are getting me more in to house every time I listen.

I can understand why you think this is rough sounding, but it only really is compared to your other songs. If I made this in any amount of time, I would be quite pleased with myself.

Love the little section at 2:07 that kind of pulls, then pushes the music forward. That's a drop, correct? Sorry, I don't work in this genre at all.

The chord progression is one of your better ones for sure; ear-pleasing! The side-chaining is not too heavy, not too light -- nice.

The hi-hat hits have a wispy and airy quality to them. This fits well in contrast to the much heavier bass.

The white noise building up and up towards the end (starts at about 6:00) is a good way to end the piece. This instrument releases very calmly, and works in conjunction with the extended delay from the plucking synth.

The best part about this tune is the addicting melody. It distracts me, in a way, from my usual complaint about house, which is the repetitiveness (sort of the definition of house though, isn't it? How would I know :p)

Great job; I can't find anything I don't like about this track, and I'm sure it'll only get better after your later revisions. I'm also impressed you did this in only 5 hours!

Keep up the good work!

I... Love... You... Writer of the best reviews. I only feel bad because mine wasnt as epic =,=. Its for reviewers like you that i started making music. Believe it or not. I'm really glad you enjoyed this :D. Yes That is a drop that is currently much too short for it to have any real effect.i always seem to do it too short or too long... And yes Distracting Melodies are definitly my strong suit ;D. Thanks for the epic review. Enjoy this on your Ipod perhaps :D

oh man

so damn catchy it sounded like daft punk met above & beyond so amazing i loved it :)

8 hours later

I really like this one. It's almost Trance. But not quite.

<Fell Asleep>

I really like this one. Oh wow, it's morning, wtf?

Lol, seriously, keep up the music. What's the main plugins you're using if I may ask? Or is that like asking for the secret spices in KFC Chicken? And im not sure what's going on really, I'm so tired.

aliaspharow responds:

Lol its all good! Thanks for the review. And lol thats no secret. I make al my instruments from scratch using Sylenth 1.

SO DAMN CATCHY

YOU SHOULD GO HUNTING WITH THIS SHIT YOU COULD CATCH ANYTHING.

ITS LIKE A MASTERBALL. NOTHING CAN ESCAPE.

MMMMMM SO TASTY.

Tried that. got attacked by a panda.

Funky.

Your songs never cease to amaze me, you have built a way of making certain atmospheres and subscapes no one on NG can match up to, I have to congratulate you for that. This song got me in a trance but still got my head and legging bobbing along to the beat. It creates an ambience but still proves to be a witty song on the dancefloor, and unlike many deadmau5 songs, despite the resemblance, is quite full and well built.

The synths were beyond awesome, I loved every part of them, especially the plucks, the pahser on them was a nice touch, and I loved it when the cutoff start increasing and turning into a saw wave, well done dude!

There are some mixing issues on my part though, despite it being terribly clear and wreaking on awesomeness, the mix is a bit muddy, I suggest maybe adding a compressor to the saws in the background a 2:47 and maybe increasing the high-band on them by just a bit.

The drums were classic aliaspharow, properly sequenced, tightly compressed and nonetheless funky above eveyrthing else :p One problem I encountered though is with the shakers, I'd add a barely noticable delay to them and then add a compress with the gain at about -1.5 or so, They seem to 'in the way' for my tastes. But that reverse hat, that was awesome.

Quite a good structure in general, it didn't get very repetetive although it could have used a 16-32 bar breakdown of some sorts, but that's just personal preference. I love the way everything else gradually changed, the transitions were quite cool too.

You have this arp-ish sort of thing at 2:21 with the square plucks, it's 3 notes, but oh so much reverb. i'd rather have it dry and with some ping-pong delay instead of reverb, It just ruins the mix IMO

The rest of the song was quite good, your usual If I do say so myself, I'd be quite proud of it If I were you, you rarely find songs of this caliber on NG, especially in the house section.

Going into my 7th hearing of this hehe :P

Anyway, good job, take care of that mixing problem and you're good to go.

damn man.... Epic review! I really appreciate it.

Most of the time i spent working on this song were adjusting all the little details on thoes synths :3 I'm glad someone noticed! The mix was very muddy when you heard it but i changed things around so it should sound a bit clearer now... It's still not perfect but i guess i'm no expert. I tried what you said and it helped a bit :D. I'm glad you noticed the percs also! A delay you say? Now i havnt tried that... I wanted to make a breakdown but I'm really trying to make my mixes more Club Friendly and a breakdown doesnt help much in that situation. Lol and I am addicted to reverb :3 I actually have it set at No Decay at 2:21 thats why it sounds like that! That's how i do my drops these days.

Anyhow thanks again for the review of awesomeness! Great advice.
