Okay, the characters are cute and the game play is challenging.
Here's a way you can improve this. After a certain amount of area travelled you can put a cinematic/show. Not a long one but a short one would be nice.
You can have like the men invade the enemy station point and then after that they move on to a next point.

The idea you have here is good, but really how many side scrolling "run away from whatever is going to fall on us" games are out there. It's an idea that is over used. I think if your going to use this idea you should have a diferent aproch. You should have more of a "hunker down and see if you last". Maybe you could have the soldiers dig Fox Holes to out last the attack. You could also make it a "defend your for"t kind of game with the artillary attacks between the waves. Just a few ideas i guess. Im giving you 3 because I know it takes alot of work to make these games. Rethink the idea of the game and make some advancments and see what can come out of it. keep up the hard work and good things will come.
