Fun and difficult.
I really like the concept behind this game. It's very simple, fun and addictive. The animation is smooth, the sounds are great and it doesn't need music which isn't there anyhow. I'm having a fun time playing it, but I also have a few gripes. Many have been voiced before, so I'll just chime in.
1. Too hard too fast. Some possible solutions include levels, slower virus creation, less splits for the viruses, a ship weapon, more bombs, and different bombs (like 4 direction bomb or a standard proximity bomb).
2. Ship damage indicator is too subtle. A louder sound would help me know I'm taking damage. Also, I notice the ship's damage indicator can get stuck "on", and then I really have a hard time telling when I'm taking damage.
This is good work that I think it could use a little fine tuning to give it that little extra oomph and propel it to a classic.
