Your missing something.
Of course, the source of your inspiration is has clear as day. I won't say it so no one will get offended by it. The animation is pretty good. You seem to have enough knowledge to make your sprites do whatever you want with much fluency. However, the I found that the fighting was too stale. It's not the animation or how fast is goes, it's the point of view. It's always the same! Take the movie that inspires you, the point of view changes constantly. Sideways, front, up, down, close ups, you name it! And that's what this movie is presently lacking the most. Accomplish this and you will get even better at this.
Also, try using stronger sound cues. It may not look like it but sound is extremly important and a strong LOUD cues really give impact when the other guy delivers a punch in the bad guys face.
I might also recommend a use of a better music soundtrack. Pheonix Wright? It works but there are much better choices to be made.

i can see that you took your time with this, the amount of effort is obvious from the length of it and the fight scene( very nice). the use of pixels made the fighting a bit hard to understand but overall a great effort and an amazing flash. a flash made to resemble an RPG is somthing that you dont see a lot on newgrounds and can often be very good to watch.
This is so cool
I only reccommend good flashes for collections.
