Beating a dead horse.
Maybe it's just me, but these Sonic sprite flashes just don't offer anything new or interesting to anyone who has scene even 1 decent predecessor. The story was unimaginative and predictable, your use of voices were infrequent and most of the fight animation was repetitive and simple.
Also, I personally don't like the sprites animating on the spot. Despite that it may show more effort to your animation it just doesn't seem realistic.
It's good, not great, but good.
I really liked the quote you used from Metal Gear Solid, that's pimp'n. But if you REALLY wanna get some good fight scenes going, go ask Alvin the Earthworm (creator of the Super Mario Bros. Z series) he can give you some nice tips!! I like the story line and the use of retro stages, overall, good, but it has the potential to be great! Keep it up!

Excellent job. A problem for me was that i couldn't really folow the battle. I couldn't tell who was attacking who.

Sure, 24 FPS makes a hell of a difference, and makes the fight look even messier than it is... I love it!
And Knuckles simply ROCKS! Of all times, he was my favourite sonic character... If only Sega developers had associated him with some decent rock music (like you did), he would have been my all-round favourite!

Awesome spritework, awesome music, awesome characters, awesome fight, interesting story (if not awesome), you average to an awesome flash. Keep on the good work.
Waiting for episode 3, now... take your time, and get it at least as good as this one.
