Reviews for "Xeno Tactic 2"

nice

ive been waiting for another xeno tactics.
i like it.
But make it easier.

The first one was better

In Xeno tactic one, you had too build that giant maze strategy wise and that was really cool.
This one is just like canyon defence and like all other defence games.
The first one was more original, so it's not that good this time.

Compared to the original this is terrible

I think I know why this game wasn't as good. Wasn't the first Xeno Tactic basically a direct rip off of Desktop Tower Defense? Pretty much the entire map layout, strategy, guns, upgrading method, etc was identical to DTD except of course the graphics and sounds were all replaced. But anybody that has played the two games would tell you they are the same game with different graphics and sounds.

So maybe this is what a tower defense game is like when you design your own game without copying another one? That would explain the drop in quality.

I will say if this game was stand alone and not called Xenon Tactic 2, it might have gotten slightly better reviews. But I think many people including myself are shocked that a game of this style could have actually gotten worse... MUCH worse with a second revision.

A couple of suggestions:
There's really not enough room to do any worth while path building. If I could do some more path building for the enemies I could probably do better.

Possibly adjust the difficult a bit. I'm no TD n00b but it seems that about the only level I could beat... the first one.

I do wish there was a better explanation of the upgrade system. Seems like on a given tower I might upgrade the damage and see a huge jump from one upgrade but then my next upgrade would be on range and the bar would barely jump and I didn't actually see ANY change in the radius of the ring around the tower.

Funnier than the first

Well executed, nice graphics, smooth animations and interesting sounds and turrets functions. I also like the way we choose to upgrade our turrets. It is now much, much more than just "desktop tower defense".
It is also nice that we can place walls pretty much anywhere. Good.
The user-interface is good, but its too small and hard to read.

Limited time between waves is a bad thing IMHO, really, we should be able to do it at our pace. Im wasting half the time just trying to read the explanations of the turrets.

What is the $$ % we get from selling our turrets? It appears to be very low.

I did not like the way the Air units attack from a completely different vector than the ground units. Unexpected, and we did not get any warning about this.. and they pop from all over the place. If i knew before hand i would get attacked from anywhere in the air, i would have placed my defenses acordingly.

Upgrades have little visible effect since its just a 1-2% increase in efficiency per shot.
Regenerative opponents are really strong.

The "help" shoud have included a brief summary of the different turrets we have, so we can know beforehand what tools we have (less time reading in-game), and also the mention that airplanes attack from anywhere, coming from the top of the screen.

Worth playing, but could be made more accesible by increasing the ammount of information we have in the help menu. I personally dont like trying 5-6 times to start to properly understand stuff... like, the slow-down turret.. is increasing its damage also increase the slow effect?

Just something I noticed...

I'm not saying this is a bad game, but there's nothing particularly special about it either. That's the rating, sorry.
The observation is a typo... S.A.M. stands for 'Surface to Air Missile'. So having SAMs target ground only is a bit... Well, I'd fix that for a third one.
