Good modulation

Although I feel that the high synth melody notes are a little annoying at times (maybe could have switched to a different sound for this somewhere in the middle, then returned later) I really appreciate the variety, melody changes and modulation, something seldom found on this site. In line with Soapbubble's review it could use some depth toward the end, and I'd suggest a low bass/pad/organ simple background line.

I agree, and I'm glad you liked the variation-- Sometimes I go out of my way to make sure I don't repeat anything too much. My newer song addresses the whole sound balance thing and the annoying leads I think, but I still have lots of time to improve as I release more music.

Thanks for the review.

Very nice

Completely makes me think this is a dance remix of some Final Fantasy or Sonic the Hedgehog track actually .Sounds very happy and quite pleasing on the ears as well. It has a light and fluffy quality to it. Makes you feel like smiling. Could also make a cool video game track too.

The synth is high and very bubbly yet happy as well while it plays the tune that it has to offer to the listener. The bass line is soft and carries a good beat too. The drums are basic and very swell here, nice one.

Overall, very cheery track to listen to.

Maybe a bit too fluffy! As per some other reviews I think it could use a little more filling out, but at the same time it seems like there's no mare room! I'll have to focus more on the mixing and instrumentation in the future so I don't release musical marshmallows to the public!

I was going for... pound cake.

:D THanks for the review man.

Hmm.

It really opens up too quickly, in my opinion. I find intros to be tricky, but this doesn't really work all that well. It just fades in and "wham" with the drums. The piano-ish sound at 0:28 sounds really good. I think the drums could be a bit better. The transition to a different key at 0:43 made me look up, it was REALLY good. Those transitions make me sit up and feel a lot better.

I don't think this is a very sad song, it seems really happy to me. The bell-like synths at 1:30 (That's when I noticed it the most) feel really nice. I really think this has a cool groove, and nice tunes, along with the chording. I like the synth that solos a lot. Don't know why.

The outro definitely needs some work. Like most songs, it just ends. Blaaaaah.

Good luck!

If I had it my way I would have it play forever-- unfortunately I'm not so good with goodbyes. It was just time to move on! You're right though, completely. The outtro could be a little more convincing than it is.
The beginning was also a trouble area. I kinda wrote the middle before the rest of it so I just wanted to get started. I think I could have done better there, but I will have to work on that in a future version. Good observation.

The song isn't supposed to be really sad, it's a lot more complicated than that. There are all these swimming emotions of idealized possible futures and a world in which everything is different than it is now. It's supposed to be wistful I think, if you wanted to use one word. Maybe a smidge hesitant.

My main goal was to go CRAZY with the chord progression, melody, and bassline. The part at 43 was the hardest one for me, but it took a long time to work together. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Thank you for your review!

Not bad

A pretty upbeat and cheerful little dance track, but it lacks in some areas.

The synth you used alongside the beat really emphasizes that upbeat feeling I get from the track. As does the melody, it's not too complicated, and rather playful with some of the runs you've got with these rather random notes. I feel they add to the cheerful and playful feel.

However, the track just feels a bit shallow. Sure enough you have rhythmics and some ambient synths backing up, but you're giving the melodic synth a lot more room than it actually needs, and it just feels a bit naked.

Understood!
I really wish there was something concrete I could do to fill it out. I guess maybe the mids are lacking a bit too much. Mixing is so difficult!
Thanks for the review, I'm really gonna try to up the quality in the future.

This has nothing to do with your song.

You sir, are forever alone.
