Reviews for "SC Guitar Maniac Dx 3"

A good effort

Its a good effort, and theres a lot of time put into the songs, however, the interface is poor. There seems to be almost no actual creativity put into the UI, and the stick figure almost makes the game feel like its telling the player "I wasn't willing to put more time into this, just deal with this stick figure"
Also, with rythme games the "level" design is critical. The reason Guitar Hero is so good is because the levels have a lot of time and thought put into them. The path the player takes with the buttons have to be well thought out. Sometimes it requires recreating the song accurately, and sometimes its just about making somehting that feels right to hit.
In this case, I see niether of these situation. Some times it seems to follow the songs, other times it just seems hastily thrown together.
My last complaint is is the choice of buttons. 123 and 4 are poor chosen. The keyboard has little representation for finding these keys. Using ASDF would have proven more successful as the keyboard it self has a small indent to let your fingers know.
Anyway, either way, its a good start. I think you need a bigger team working on the game end. Its just as important as the audio itself.
Keep it up.

Don't believe it!!

Wow, you guys did a great job, this game is awesome, a can't stop of playeng (obs: just stopped to write the review xD)
Kep the great work... congrats...

DUDE!

You Made It Allready?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!? Finally

SCGMD2 was better

i like the new features, but the second had better song selection and when you miss a note, it's kinda strange and the song goes off, real, but odd

Fun, but...

This is obviously a technical improvement over SCGMDX2. The game plays much smoother, the options (effects on or off, 1234 or asdf, etc.) are nice, and I especially appreciate the notes hit/mistake trackers. The songs are much harder, as you warned, and that's fine. My main problem is the length of the songs.
In the previous game, it seemed like only a handful exceeded 3 minutes, whereas in this game, it's the norm. It's incredibly frustrating to make a mistake late into a song and have to replay the whole thing; it's even worse when the song is three and a half minutes long. At least in SCGMDX2, there were enough short songs so that it didn't matter if I couldn't get a perfect on the longer ones.
Overall good game, but not as fun as the last. I'll still play the hell out of it, though!
