Reviews for "Circle of Pain"

Great

its the awesomest game i have ever played!

Misleading Pic

I like the style of the game despite the pic though. I assumed it was some type of parachuting game.

Good things:
I loved the upgrades. Meh on using overused points though. Very nice traps, just hidden enough but obviously there if you look.

Bad things:
Collisions were too uncontrolled by the player. I wish after I collided I could've turned in midair and started running the other way. The AI was horrible. Camera could use a touch of work.

Needed things:
Maps for the levels. Maybe more characters?

Okay, but that's all

I have to say I did like the concept of this game. It plays better than many of the reviews would lead you to believe. However, I feel as if the game plays a little slow. I'm sure that not many would agree with me on that... I just feel as if this game would be a bit more interesting if everything were a little faster. The movement from circle to circle is very slow, and turning around is a little slow also. I understand that this game would become much more difficult if that were the case, but I think it needs it. And I don't just mean the player either. I think the AI should be faster too. I don't feel that there is much challenge to this game on a skill level. It's more circumstance than anything. On more than one occasion I just simply bumped the enemy a couple of times from the front until the AI decided to turn around and leave. Don't get me wrong... I like this game. I just feel it's not difficult enough.

:not to great"

I thought is was sorta good

Great concept, and it deserves improvement.

Well, first off I'd like to say that I enjoyed the game reasonably and played all the levels (it's an obssessive compulsive thing). Secondly, I don't write reviews for two types of games: the ones I hate (not worth my time) and the ones I love (I'd rather spend my time playing them instead of writing reviews). That leaves us games I feel have potential, but suffer from problems that prevent them from achieving that quality which makes you want to come back some other day and play more. I suppose it's more like "player's feedback" than a review per se. Anyway:

(1) Controls: Bad. Not intuitive. Caused a lot of anger and frustration during the first 50 battles, until I somewhat got the hang of it. Instead of using left/right for clockwise/counter-clockwise (or was it the other way around? well, nevermind), you should use left/right for what they mean: LEFT and RIGHT. That wouldn't diminish the challenge of the game enough to make players think it's too easy.

(2) Music: For a game this long, it wouldn't hurt to have a few different tracks instead of only one. That would also give a sensation of variety to a game in which the only difference between groups of levels is the colour theme.

(3) Power-ups: Power-ups always make a game better and more interesting. That is also true for your game, but here their sequence is too linear, the cost-effect relation for the power-ups doesn't leave the player much room for choice.

(4) Collisions: Annoying. The hit-box of the contestants isn't very clear to the player, and sometimes an opponent will be landing on your circle while facing the opposite direction ("It's a certain kill!", you think) but alas - you hit him one milisecond before he touches the floor, pushing him away and postponing his death.

(5) Shield: Pretty much useless. I never felt any need for it. You could design some levels with an obscene number of traps to encourage its use.

There you go. Let me finish by repeating that I enjoyed the game very much in spite of its flaws, and I would definitely like to play an updated version (or a sequence) with improved features.

TheMillz responds:

There are 3 music tracks in this game, plus one for the credits screen. An INFINITE number if you count track 4, which is silence, meaning you can add any of your own music if you want. So, yea....
