Reviews for "Warlords: Call to Arms"

Yo!Everybody!

If you fight with the demons you will get more money and the game was incredible! Orcs of the north rules man!

Great.

Warlords Call to Arms is a strategy game set in a fantasy universe, where you can take helm of any one of eight different factions and lead your army to ultimate victory by seizing the known world through violent and epic battles!

Graphics -

Warlords has graphics that met my expectations but didn't exceed them. The graphics are great but they lack the "oomph" and the so called ability to amaze people on first sight. 8.5/10 These graphics are great but could use more detail and color.

Sound - The game sounds alright and the sound effects "feel" rather nice. The music is somewhat wondrous at first but gets repetitive as you spend hours playing the game continuously, paying attention to the screen and nothing else, like I do. 8/10 - The sound is typical of most games and doesn't impress me. The sound doesn't sound like trash though. The music is pleasant to hear at first, but gets irritating after a while. I'd definitely like to see more songs in the sequel's (If there is any) and even in this game's soundtrack.

Gameplay -

If the sound and graphics aren't my cup of tea, then the gameplay surely impresses me! The game is characterized by violent and epic battles. There are eight default and one unlockable factions to choose from. The Human Alliance, the brave Men of the West, Wood Elves, Night Elves, Orcs of the South, Orcs of the North, The Undead (Which are fearless, mindless and fleshless), Mountain Trolls and last but not least, The Demons. Each has their own strengths and weaknesses in armor and different weapons types. Once you have selected your race, you begin your campaign. You can upgrade you training and armor and, you can buy new units so you can train them in the field.
Then after that you can select which territory to attack next. Each territory has it's own difficulty level. The gameplay is quite awesome in it's own right too. You can train huge amounts of soldiers that you have bought and you can unleash them upon the adversary's rank. Not only that, there are many different troop types to choose from, although you have to unlock them by buying them. The objective is to win by either successfully sending in enough soldiers through enemy lines and into the opposition's territory and survive or by having enough soldiers break through their lines and guarantee utter victory. You can send in a line of troops by pressing the charge key when a charge is ready, which I think is great and makes gameplay more fun and challenging at the same time. Enemy soldiers have different advantages against specific types of troops and weaknesses against other certain types of troops which balances out gameplay and makes it more tough. The game is excellent since there are many strategies to use and gameplay never is the same, every, single time. There is also a two player mode, which comes in handy when you want to beat the living hell out of a friend. Also if you are player two you can call a charge pressing the "0" key on the keypad. Djstatika forgot to mention this. The only complaint I have with the gameplay is that there IS NO PAUSE BUTTON in-game. Other than that the game could use a custom battle feature and you should be able to use all troop types in two player mode. I also think you should able to choose a universal difficulty level. Other than that AWESOME!
9.5/10 Awesome!

Replay Value -

To put this quickly, the game has eight factions, a two player mode, many strategies to try out and many soldiers to use in combat. That means replay is excellent! 9.5/10 Excellent!

Pros -

Awesome gameplay!
Awesome replay value!
Two player mode!

Cons -

AI is easy at times.
Soundtrack is repetitive.

Final Result - 35/40 = about 9/10

Awesome! Can't wait until the sequel. (not Warlords Heroes which is not a strategy game but Warlords 2)

Didnt like it

Takes to long to gain money, crappy upgrades, and the Q button for the wave DOES NOT work

good but has some issues

i like the style of the game, and the idea, but there was a couple issues holding you back.

1. lack of money;you earn way too little after each fight.
2.Graphics;this could have came out of 06 man.A little deatail there.
3.Plot;its always on a plain!how bout make some missions, each race with there own ones,( i dont care if they are similar to other races).Maybe assault the human kingdom you see in the background,or burn the woodelfs forest?raid some villages, gain allies, have your own land attacked by others. that kind of thing you know?

it was a good game, but you can really revamp this thing and turn it into one hell of a flash game.

Good game...

But it was unusual and that's what i liked about it. I took away 2 stars for the graphcs.
