Reviews for "Spiderman vs. Pie"

Lol

It gave me a chukcle or 2.I loved the laser part. Its decent enough to pass judgement.

interesting

well it was alright. When you are showing the random bits from other things it is a very good technique, but the other animations with stuff moving around could have used a bit more work. The music also fit very well.

Overall not bad. Prctise makes perfect.

'Prctise'? o________0

Thanks for the review. For a first effort, I'm very happy with the results and the feedback thus far. I could have refined the fluidity a bit but I'm content with the jerky walk animation as it fits nicely with the random nature of it.

Gratz meef.

Metal.

You have my sense of humor!

Or do I have your sense of humor?
Hmmmm....

Some great transitions

I thought this was excellent.

Spiderman and the pie forms a simple framework for a few surrealist twists. I liked the transitions with the images sliding in, the way images/sounds were intermingled without horrible seams... there was definitely some skill both in the image cropping and the audio engineering.

I felt some background would have made it graphically more interesting though and it was kinda low on actual jokes or forming many non-obvious connections. I did like the consumption bit (pie, cookie, beer).

I'm slightly shocked at the score, voted 5 and though this is yet far from perfect, I'm really looking forward to watching more from you.

I like consumption too. (drinks)

Good humor dragged down by poor animation

The first word that comes to my mind after watching that is random.

Some of the jokes were spot-on but many of them missed. The lack of quality animation and cut and paste graphics took away from the quality jokes. I suggest you work more on the quality of the actual animation because you already understand what it takes for the movie to reach its intended goal of giving a quick laugh.

Having said that, the movie does get progressively better and better as you watch and I loved the Kill Bill segment.

SteamTusk responds:

'Quality of the actual animation?' I had a bitch of a time rendering that laser! I honestly tried my damndest to make this look comparatively awesome for an initial entry into Newgrounds. I wanted to surpass the status quo of 'stick figures with guns' and 'stick figures skateboarding'; initially I figured it'd be something I could put in the can in a couple weeks but I undervalued the investment of time cropping and keyframing the animations. Synching up that dance sequence took three days alone.

Appreciate the honest response, I can't say that I'll not be random in the future, but for the benchmark I've reached, the only variable in the equation is QUALITY. Time for that compulsive disposition to perfection to shine through! Pwn!
