Just plain fun...

Note: The 'violence' and 'humor' scores have little (if anything) to do with how good a game is... They are only there because they used to be in the sub-scores and are only a measure of how much violence and humor there is to be had in the game (if any). Also, the sub-score 'interactivity' has been replaced with 'gameplay'...

'Just plain fun' about sums it up. Simple and addictive, the way arcade titles should be...

Graphics: 6/10 (Fair): The graphics were decidedly minimalist, but they did their job well. I thought there was too much black and grey, the players character model, well, sucks, and a background would have been nice (something simple like the background in Grid Wars 2 would have worked well), but the simple geometric shapes attacking you were colourful and some of the effects were nice to look at, so not bad really...

Style: 7/10 (Good): I encountered a couple of bugs, one was were, if you, after playing a game, played the tutorial again, your gun would freeze up and you would have to close the game and open it again and no, you couldn't just rewind it because of a bug where both your progress bar and the enemies would remain on screen after rewinding (the music would remain on as well, meaning the track would double itself up if you right-clicked and hit play). Other than that though, the package came together rather well and the minimalistic style was solid throughout...

Sound: 7/10 (Good): Like the graphics, minimalist, with little variety in the sound effects, but there were enough to make the game sound good and the music, which certainly the game's strong point in terms of sound, reflected the simplistic arcade style of the game very well.

Violence: 0/10 (No Violence): No more violent than shooting clay targets in real life...

Gameplay: 8/10 (Very Good): Ah, yes, the sticking point of any game. Fortunately, this game is no slouch in this category. Your character could be annoyingly slow at times, but other than that, the gameplay good, damn good. The ammo system was cleverly done, it was fun blasting things and I personally liked how the game had a few surprises in store. The game CAN seem a little slow at first, with the player having to take time to line up doubles and triples in the early waves to avoid running out of ammo (and to increase the accuracy score), then by the middle waves I was having no trouble with ammo and frankly I was getting a little bored, and then what happens? Suddenly the red enemies appear and BANG, the whole pace of the game changes. I think that was a great way to shake things up, and the enemies appeared at just about the right time. Well done on that, and on the gameplay in general. Another thing I found particularly good was the health system of the enemies, which forced you to place shots more carefully, but probably the best thing about the gameplay was how well done it was. It came together well and it was challenging, with fairly good pacing...

Humor: 0/10 (No Humor): Nothing to laugh at here, but that's no loss...

Overall: 8/10 (Very Good): I would have given this 7, but the tight gameplay pushes it over the line. On the whole this is very good arcade title. It could do with a bit of polish, but it's still very good, and a great time waster too...

I'd recommend this game to pretty much anyone who likes arcade point-and-shoot style games who don't might a few abrupt pace changes here and there...

Simple. Addictive.

Even if graphics and animations are very simple, this game's a great game, making you always check your aim to make sure you hit a least two target, to avoid running out of ammo.

Great job!
