buggy
So I think it's a really good idea for a game and if you can get it working then it could become the next great classic game. I saw that the players are kind of built on platforms or boxes when fighting, like if i get hit hard and fly to the left i'll only go there like 5 feet before i hit an invisible wall. This makes it impossible to die unless you fly so far up that you die, making the matches really really long. Hope you can sort all this out for when you do this game will be great.

I couldn't tell which button you press to use items though. Oh, and perhaps in the real thing, have a couple more people unlocked right off the start.
Suprisingly good
This flash has a lot of potential. I saw some bugs that could use some fixing.
1. When I was at the greenhills stage, I noticed that if an enemy (tails) was above you while on the center platform, some how they kept jumping until they fell off the stage.
2. You have a border problem based on the location of your screen. When you hit someone to knock them off the side, they bounce back from where the screen ends.
You might also want to consider zooming in just a little bit, it was too tiny for my taste.
Pretty good, I must say.
The only thing you have to improve is the backgrounds, making characters a littlebit bigger, and maybe something to change the controls.
And maybe, you could add another attack button.
