I wasn't going to review, but when I saw this,
I have to say, you took a conventional idea for a tutorial and added your own unique style to it. Brilliantly done.
What I would work on in the future is trying to allow the character to move back-but you already knew about that. Also, maybe add a good track to listen to while playing the tutorial.

Very Clever
Well I thought the idea was very clever, certainly showed what the final result was better than other tutorials do. It probably could have gone into more depth, but it's good for someone who already has some actionscript knowledge.
You should also maybe add information on how to make the game more personalized. You kind of just hand the user a bunch of code and get them to copy paste it. It works, but the created game will be so unoriginal it's sad. You should try to show the user how to use the skills you teach to create something original.
this was a pretty good tutorial
It show the very basics of how to make a platform game, but you should make a second one going deeper into it like weapons and power ups, score board and enemies. good job though

It was great! Only bad thing is that it doesn't talk about enit mies, but thats on other tutorials. Great job!
