Reviews for "What Are We Fighting For"

Love the End!

I have no idea for making 3D flash, but I know its hard and its fantastic!
I specialy loved the ending when the jet unexpectedly came out from behind the view then the blurring effect to make it realistic, gun fires were lovely,
but its true that the movements weren't that good, but Im sure Few more practice will cover it, great expression made out from the video for the good song
Great job!

Axolotl's GBU

Good: Great song. Nice animation, and great artistic representation of the song, especially the bit in the chapel. My favorite bit was the plane and, an odd detail, the bomb dropping. That was pretty damn impressive. And, of course, it's not easy to do art with a message without coming off preachy, I know. You did it to a T.

Bad: The guys' joints didn't seem to work right. You could tell what happened there in the chapel, but it was a little disjointed between the grenade (?) getting thrown in and the destruction that followed. It wasn't always clear why guys fell down, like the one guy who took out the three running towards him. None of them were armed. How did he get shot? Overall, that stuff seems nitpicky, but I thought you might want the criticism.

Ugly: The song was maybe a little over-dramatic. "What will you tell your kids," or something like that, it said. As far as I can remember or have read, kids love hearing war stories from their parents. It's the demogogues who send soldiers that'll have a tough time explaining themselves if they're alive when people look back on the senseless destruction of lives and resources. But the animation was understated and made a good counterpoint to that aspect of the music.

the nitpicky things are always where i have failed in the past and it is good to have someone point them out for me, hopefully there won't be things like that in the next one

Nice Work

Nice 3D-Movie. I liked how the F-22 Raptor looks but was a bit confused about the red Star on his Wing. ( it's not a Russian aircraft)

It still meed some improvement but it was actually a good start. We will see, how the next movies will look.

raven9892002 responds:

im glad you like it and your right, the red star is a bit confusing, but not much can be done till next time

Impressive

That was a very good effort, much better than I could have done at least.

Your main problem lies with the fact that unless you have Pixar/Dreamworks quality, 3D modeled people/animals/dynamic things look bad. That costs alot of money though, money that internet animators don't typically have.

My opinion is that it would have done well with a rotoscoping, the people wouldn't have looked like puppets jerking around and 2D is always easier to make look good.

The houses and the bomber looked fine the way they were, though. That was cool. As was the cinematography. Among the best I've seen for a flash short. You set each shot up well, and the lighting was very good too.

8/10 sums this work up very well, congratulations on actually following through with a project this fully-scoped-out, it's quite an accomplishment.

raven9892002 responds:

thanks for your opinion there and I'm glad you liked the cinematography.

also, your right, i am extremely proud of what i have achieved here

Needs work.

I love the song though, but the animation definitely needs work. However, this has potential. If you could do a sequel after working on your skill I think it would score alot better.

raven9892002 responds:

it probably won't be a sequel to this but once i have honed my skills a bit i will be doing more animations
