Reviews for "Ratbag & Furball #05"

Solid effort.

It's a pleasure to be reviewing your works again -- I apologize for taking so long to get to this flash, but I suppose we should be getting started.

I can't say this is my favorite of the Ratbag & Furball cartoons, but it's still a good quality effort. Like usual, my favorite part was the fluidity of the animation -- everything just looked like it... well, worked. Ratbag and furball have never looked better, and I commend you on keeping up the quality when so many veteran artists stumble.

As the series has went along, the animations have also become obviously more anime-ish. Whether that's a good development or not, I'm not sure, but I thought I should bring it up.

Next, the story -- you've had some great storylines in the past, but this one, though funny, wasn't it. The best scene was by far when both of them discovered the lack of a key ingredient ("WTF?" -- very nice job), and though the war part was of high quality, for some reason, it just didn't have the same lasting effect on me as the other cartoons have. I think Ratbag & Furball #04 had a better story -- but that's just personal opinion. :P

The sound was good -- the usual entry piece was the same, reliable good quality. Listening to Furball's stomach rumbling wasn't exactly aesthetically pleasing, but I'm guessing it wasn't supposed to be. The music in the first half of the piece definitely felt like old video game music (as you mentioned), but even though it went along sort of with the theme, it didn't quite do it for me -- it felt a bit too synthesized (I've been going to the Audio Portal too much lately to be totally neutral... :P)

Anyways, to sum it all up, it was another solid effort in the Ratbag & Furball series -- I'm not too sure if it was the best script or not, but it was still a good quality submission -- a job well done!

Haven't heard from you in a while.
In all honesty, right now my work here on Newgrounds is kinda slow. I haven't had much time for Ratbag and Furball cartoons. It was pure luck that one of my Certificate 4 projects involved an animated short, so i was able to hit 2 birds with a stone. I hope to be able to resume cartooning again soon. I know i've said that a lot over the past 2 years, but i really do hope i manage to get back on track in spite of that. Thanks for remaining loyal.

Great!

I love it. I love the characters names, the simple graphical style and the hillarious plot, heh. Hope you make more episodes of this great series! Keep it up!

stoners-lunchbox responds:

Thanks, you can rest assured that there'll be more toons to follow. Don't know when... But there will be more to follow.

Aw, cute

Well you finally bothered to make another Flash (not that I made many myself either this year). And I like your FBF style, you should teach me.

By the way... I haven't seen you on MSN for almost the entire year, but you're still cool.

stoners-lunchbox responds:

Haven't been on MSN because of work and because i've been going out a lot more now that i can afford to. These 4 walls are by far too confining. I hope i get to make more cartoons as i go, but for now i just want to relax.

Massimo--

I liked it

I thought you did a fairly good job. You really can't expand an animation that much due to one's Multimedia class, like you can't go around making a Madness Tribute in Animation. I did like it, considering that I base most of my opinion on the artwork. I'm a horrible artist, the best I can do is car (which is fairly easy). And I also give you a thumbs up for using FBF. I NEVER could do that. Very good work!

stoners-lunchbox responds:

Thanks. FBF truly is the way to go. I could never go back to tweening Ratbag and Furball like i used to.

I was surprised to see this.

I'm glad you started animating again.

stoners-lunchbox responds:

I never really quit. I just took a little (wtf?) break.
