Reviews for "The Eitherworld's Banshee"

Do I smell a series coming?

Other then the fact that at sometimes the animations were a bit choppy this is a great little film with some kickass artwork!

You really don't give yourself enough credit!

If you make another one which I hope you do just make sure to work on your plot and development some along with making the animation more smooth.

Sweet! Except...

Well, the animation was much better than I expected it to be. (You did belittle yourself a little there, so I was uhh... wondering if it was how you said it would turn out to be, but it turned out to be pretty darn good.)

The fairies were cutely drawn, and you could see the happiness that they exuberantly expressed. Even though you said it didn't look that great, it looked pretty well to me, especially since this is your first submission.

Storyline... ehh, I'm going to be honest with ya. It felt very awkward. I mean, you gave us that huge happy/fun feeling and you spread it throughout your flash movie, but as the dark forest came, it became immediately dark and horrific. I was absolutely shocked how fast and sharp the environment changed and it gave it a very uncomfortable mood. Now if the whole movie was dark to begin with, that would of been understandable, but the shift was too sudden, and the new story that arose from the dark area wasn't given enough time to fully develop, causing that feeling of unanswered questions and what not.

In a more personal perspective, when I see happy/cheerful things, I like them to stay happy/cheerful, so that's why it got awkward when the sad/dark effect just kicked in out of nowhere. Not to say that this was the specific reason why you got downgraded in score a little, but it's just a little personal thing of mine.

Like others have said, it's kind of unorganized, and needs to be checked up on a little. Give characters and storylines more time to develop (I.E. Make longer flash movies so we can truly see what the characters are like, and the understanding of each specific storyline). You've got a great start at Newgrounds with this flash submission, and it seems like it's going to be pretty nice seeing more of you work.

It's always good to see new flash artists come in with their completed flash projects, so I hope to see more soon. Make the next one a bit longer, or create a series for us to watch. Either way should turn out great. Hopefully though, you'll make it more fine-tuned and everything. :D

. . .

Wow, I have to say this is great artwork. I didn't find the animation crappy at all!
The others have a point though, the story is a little confusing cause you're expecting lots of screaming and dead people. Not some 'sad'-story about a fairy haha!
Keep up the good work. 1 question, how long did this take you?

Emotional...

I saw this when you first submitted it, and thought it was great... Congrats on Daily Feature. I liked the smoothness of the animation. But the plot was a little iffy. I think it would be better if you separated the whole thing about the fairy and the part with the mother and child. Because that way you could elaborate more on the fairy's story, and although the scene where she finds her mother again was beautiful, it didn't really fit. So, excellent flash, but a little unorganized. I hope to see more from you in the future!

Yah, it was a serious work

Graphics: 9/10
Sound: No much music, so just 7/10
Atmosphere: Very good 10/10
Story: A bit confusing, because it's one of these fairy tales or something. Still 8/10
(34:4):2=4,25. Not enough for a vote of five but regarding the fact that this was one of your first submissions, I have to say that you have lots of talent.
