i hate you. i hate this game. Its great tho. its a really good concept, but its too hard. wayyy too hard. the enemies have a huge advantage in being able to attack faster. also, i think u should give more gold each round. its almost useless to have 5 or 10 gold per round. and let the character get more XP points to spend rather than 1 or 2 per round. i didnt even get past the 2nd lvl and im usually good at these games....

As I already said on the other reviews, a new version is on it's way. I'm doing the last test and will upload in less then an hour (I hope).
I have addressed some issues, like the collisions, and recalibrated difficulty.
As for the money and XP: If you play trying to survive, you will get low XP and low money, but if you are able to score some combos, you will gain bonuses that will radically chagne your game experience.
Obviously I suggest you to wait for the update, but if you want you can try to follow the suggestions I gave in other reviews... just in case :)

Good but tough

There is definitely a problem with the attack reload time. In the first level, it takes two shots to kill some guys, which basically means you take about 4-5 damage whenever you see one, which sucks cause you only have like 30 HP to begin with. On the second round I lasted literally about 15 seconds, killing 3 or 4 guys. Anyways, my point is that when I play a game, I use either easy or normal to get the feel of the controls. I only do hard when I know I am good enough to get somewhere. This game seems to be permanently on hard mode.

I'm about to upload a new version, a little easier, but in the meanwhile: Have you tried the Practice? It's quite useful to learn the controls, and you can't die there :)
Anyway, if you take the warrior and spend all three initial points in ATTACK STRENGTH, you should be able to beat the first level easily (with shield raised!).
Also the wizard, maxed in attack, is a good start, or the Cleric with the special ability maxed... or the Archer with Attack speed!

Or... you can wait for the update! But I don't promise nothing... :)

Combat a bit rough

I felt like I spent the majority of my time just running around waiting to be able to attack. I like the fast paced feel though.

Hmmmm.....

this is an ok game with a great concept. but the difficulty is a huge dealbreker. the pause inbetween attacks in inane and gives the enemies a giant advantage while they hack and slash without relent. Personally, i'd rather not fight enemies while being nearly required to run around and wait to be able to attack. But the animation was great and the character development system is a nice addition to a game like this. But the combat just ruins the whole thing for me.

Sorry to hear that, Thank you anyway for the review.
A new version has been uplaoded (needs NG staff approval), maybe you'll find it a little easier to play. The pause between attacks is necessary to maintain balance... but if you learn the good rhythm, you should not notice it...

Good concept, needs work.

Specifically, it needs the ability to choose difficulty levels.

A game designer should NEVER say something like that. It's assinine. A game is meant to be *fun* above all else, and getting my ass stomped every single round and having to reload is most definately not *fun*.
