Reviews for "A Few Sundays in October"

To be honest.

I like what you've done - it's not like your average flashery, what with the coffee and cardboard, therefore g'work.

Coffee Break was awesome, I loved it - althought the seperate pieces o patper annoyed me, I wished it could have stayed on colour. Probly just my thing, as opposed to an actualy problem.

...but I gotta say :

Growth sucked, it was preachy and useless - bad move.

...and the other one was just annoying.

From watching right to left twas a horrible anit-climax.

Sorry dude.

Argh you made a new cartoon and I didnt notice arr

It's been a while since you made something composed of little short films.
I suppose I should review each on their own merit;

I didnt like the first one a whole lot. While I can and do respect the skill used to make it, not much was really there to feed my eyes. My ears yes, as the song was very nice, but not much really was there. No meat.

The second one seems to me like an idea that could easily be expanded into a longer flash. The cardboard backround and white vehicles actually reminded me of another flash cartoon done entirely in cardboard called "Paper Sky" which was on Atomfilms and is on newgrounds now as well.
And its funny that it reminded me of that, because Paper Sky also used music from the movie Amelie which you used in......

....the third one which was easily the best one of all. You used a different art style in this one, and overall it reminded me of Shel Silverstein. I also like the watercolor paint effect. Watercolors never get the respect that acrylic and oil paints do. And it was very freeform and very pleasant and nice. A good depiction of how a brainstorm makes one's thoughts jump from one thing to another, to another, to another. Also, you used those realistic splatters and coffee stains again which I recall from another short of yours. I always like how those look.

tl:dr, it was good. :)

Thanks for that lenghy review of yours, Zekey:)

I am aware that Saviours of Jazz Ballet doesn't have muc to offer contentwise.. I was just playing around with the graphics really... I'm glad you liked the song though:)

Growth was a very simple idea.. I just had to get it out of my system. I'm going to expand on the subject in a movie I'll be making in 2008.

Thanks a lot. I'm glad you enjoyed Coffee Break. I think I shall experiment some more with painted coffee in my future projects.

Well done

honestly, at first i had no idea what to think of this. I'd watched all three and didn't know how to approach this box. The first, I felt was seriously lacking. it disapointed me. I thought it was choppy and the song was overbearing.

However, when I clicked the second, I was a little impressed, and it was enjoyable. the idea is simple and it's nothing out of the ordinary, and i think that's what makes it great.

Then, when i watched the third, it amazed me! I didn't understand how you could create something like the third entry, and accept the first in the collection. It's appearnt that you have a great great skill. Having one thing lead onto the other like that and the woman with fungi in her hair as a symbol, was extremely intelligent.

I'm off to watch your other films, but i wanted to put my honest opinions out before I place personal judgement on the others and allow them to influence my opinion of this one. Please take my critique with an open mind, and continue to practice your art, because you are so very skilled!

Foxcato responds:

Thank You very much for this in-depth review, Miss:)
The other two in the box work mostly as experiments actually. Especially Saiviours of Jazz Ballet.
I hope You're going to like my other work as much as you liked Coffee Break:)

Your best collection ever!
