Reviews for "Toytown Tower Defense"

Nice concept, needs some tweaks though...

Being that it's your first game, it's pretty good, the whole "Toy Land" theme is a nice twist on the traditional TD game, and adding a hero is nice as well.

I do have to admit though, the interface felt a bit clunky... Game just would not scroll when I reached the edge of the screen, and clicking on the mini map seemed a bit sluggish. It could have also used some keyboard shortcuts as well, so I could switch to my hero and off without having to search around for him. Maybe another shortcut that would let me bounce around the towers as well.

Still, again, it's great for the first effort, and hope if you do a sequel, you'll build upon and improve the concept!

gET MORE eXPERIENCE FIRST

hey, i think you were too lazy to put a stop command and cre8 another butt'n in every wave. buti think you should'nt rush and make your users as happy as possible, but you could get a rating of 4.30+ ratin'. so please create more towers and possible to buy more heroes and to updrade your base pls!

Different, But Poorly Put Together

The game was pretty good, and I like the idea of having a powerful hero character. But the fact is, the hero is just way too powerful and the towers are too weak. The entire game becomes a race to get enough towers to weaken the enemy and chase the rest down with your hero to finish them off. This wouldn't be so bad if you didn't have such a limited amount of time to hunt them down before the next wave, and all of the micromanagement with the hero leaves you no time to upgrade your towers. Then, when you add in the powerplants, it messes you up even more because when you want to upgrade your towers with the little time you have, you have to spend it instead building power plants.

The idea was good, and don't get me wrong, this isn't a bad game. I still played it for a good 20 minutes. It was just too poorly structured to the point where it was too hard to do what you wanted to do.

Need improvment.

The hero is essensial in this game, and not much on the towers. The tower is kinda useless takes almost none damage if you don't uppgrade them but the uppgrades is expensive too. The element thing isn't clear enough, like have the monsters no weakness?
The controls are bad, you must klick on the minimap to go somewhere, no zoom out function, if you miss the aura things you deselect the hero.
Music is repetative, and not even a special boss song.

I think this game is more of a RTS than a TD.

Concret things to do to improve:
-When you move the mouse somewhere you go there and not the bad cursor buttons.
-More hotkeys, like EMP-"e" hotkey. Powerup number one on the list "1" Select hero-"h" and towers-"t"
-Better tower/enemy/upgrade balance
-Get rid of that submeny when you select a tower.

On the bright side this was a very fun game and time killing.

not bad

i appreciate how you tried to make it different than most tower defense games, but it was too dependent on the hero
