Loved it.

I feel that Gorman should be a little more accurate with that pistol of his.

I cant get past the operations rooms because I dont know how to cut the door... I thought Vasquez had the torch but I didnt see any special icons and blah blah.

I think the grenades have too great an area of effect. I find myself having to be placed all the way across the room and then firing at the opposite wall and still getting wounded.

Still loved to see this adaptation of ALIENS. Thougt it was really well done. Maybe you can make another with the sentry turrets or some other such thing.

You were right, Vasquez has a torch. Along with all the other combat marines. Just move one down to square that the red arrow is pointing to and a "cut door" button will appear.

Literally, the best flash game ever made. The *only* improvements I could possibly think of are 1) a 'skip' button that allows you to wait until later to move a marine, (to prevent these log jams, which aren't tactical. The order in which marines move through tunnel should not affect how fast they are. (Vasquez following Frost should be the same as Frost following Vasquez. A 'skip' button would allow for this.) and 2) possibly, a way to click on a square, and highlight all the other squares that have line-of-site to that square. Because sometimes I'm confused about what squares have line of site to what other squares.

That, and a *slight* increase in the chances of hitting for pistols and 1-point shots. Right now, pistols are pretty useless. Even with rifles, the option is either to move 2 spaces or shoot, because doing the move 1 / shoot 1 option is pretty much a waste unless the thing you are shooting at is only 1 space away.

Map editor and character editor might be neat too, but I'm sure that would require a much bigger game. Seriously, with a little improvement, this game could be turned into a business. Dragonfable and such are not nearly as good, and they have thousands of paying customers.

If I put in a skip button, that effectively makes it "move whoever you want whenever you want". The order selection is a big part of the challenge of the game. I don't want to get rid of it. But, in the board game, you had to rearrange your team order before going in the ducts. I skipped over that, maybe it was a mistake.

Yeah, pistols are pretty useless. If I was designing a tactical game like X-com or something, I would make the pistols better. But this is a simulation of the movie Aliens and an adaption of an existing set or rules. So I don't want to mess with them much.

Thanks again for your encouragement. It's comments like this that keep me going on my new project, which wont be finished for a while, but I think you might like it.

A COOL THING TO ADD WOULD BE IF AT THE THIRD MISION THE MARINS YOU CAN SAVE WOULD BE ACTIVE AND ARMED
AND I`M NO EXPERT BUT THE ADDONS MADE SEEM TO MAKE ALIENS SPAUN ON MARINES MOR OFTHEN
I LOVE SV GAMES AND MOVIES THAT INCLUDE ALIENS AND STARSHIPS

This game is just great and how it should be. Yes, it is hard and sometimes you even don't have a chance to get through. But if you hang on, find the best tactic and spend some time you
- definitely can kill the Queen and get the 500 bonus points for it
(If you manage to concentrate your firepower over three rounds on the Queen without letting her to near; 'should have two smartguns; granates are not as usefull but you can 'activate' her with a (nearby) hit to let her come; cover yourself with flamed ground)
- can get all of your Marines through the reactor which makes operations nearby easy
(Hold your folks tight together; in round 7 send Hicks to open the door without looking back; when Newt finds the door to the right, let the pistol guys go; the rest fights other aliens, with grenades if possible; then send the rest keeping Hicks and Apone; they fight for time and seal the door as late as possible; then everybody go for the landing bay)
- can get all of your Marines through operations no matter if you started with reactor or operations (second one is tough)
- can rescue Newt afterall without loosing one Marine (Thats also possible if you started with operations, but tougher; untill now I have not been able to do the perfect game: Kill the Queen, rescue Newt AND Burke, loose no marine; thats my goal now : )

Folks: Don't complain about the difficulty. It's all right. It shows you the difference between a movie and 'real life'. The game become allready a lot easier since you can flame ground.
Watch carefully, think hard and do the right thing!

And remember: Marines which you don't loose to the Aliens you don't have to rescue later! It's a fine thing to start Rescue Newt with 10 marines. Two of them come through anyway.

Great job, I have spent many fun and frustrated hour on this.
