Age of war is a game that takes place in a universe where Napoleonic-era warfare is the norm for all races, creeds, and civilizations. ("Just sit there and take your bullets, you bitch!") Which is basically how I almost won. It was basically ten solid minutes of
"MELEE TROOP, MELEE TROOP, MELEE TROOP, AGE ADVANCE, MELEE TROOP. " Because every kill gives you enough money to buy another melee troop, plus a little extra.(Really helped that melee troops were the only thing worth buying.) So I wound up with an ever-growing army of melee troops. It didn't even matter how many melee troops it took to kill a heavy troop, because I always made money.
I can't help but think I would've won if I hadn't blown a bunch of money on the next-to-last melee troops. Or maybe I was simply overwhelmed by the enemy's infinite money and blatant cheating. And I still almost won. The point is -this-, came out the same year as fuckin' Sonny, okay? And is considered as good as Sonny. . . No, It isn't.
Maybe this idea has potential, I don't know, I'm not a "tower defense" guy, but if you fix the prices, how you progress through ages, clean up the graphics, maybe make the bad guys a different color from the good guys (any differences at all really) and we'll see.
Hey, look a sequel.
