Reviews for "LRU 1: Lost Sweeper"

It's better than your other ones

Good stuff:
The mini-quests (like getting the orb), are better than the actual "standard quests" of killing monsters. It moves your game away from "Hack and slash" a bit more. Even though they didn't have that much story behind them, at least it's less pointless than a killfest, which is good for a RPG

The game feels more consistent and more professional than your previous "Lethal RPGs". I feel like my character is not just a killing machine who randomly woke up one morning and decided to conquer the world. Which is to say he's a bounty hunter, so it's not THAT much better, but it's a start. And you do have more fluff in, like better developped towns and stuff. The game mechanics also seem more consistent at a whole. Better balanced I guess.

the sci-fi theme would have been different from all the classic RPG settings.
Unfortunately, you didn't go very far with that so we still end up with a medieval warrior that hops from planet to planet on a spaceship wearing a spacesuit.
If you want something more original, try steampunk.

The attack thing with the bar is interesting, because it sets you appart from other games. However, it's frustrating when you don't get to do even one attack, wasting one whole turn.

The graphics are decent. They're not stellar, for sure,

Annoying things:
The third quest is utterly pointless. Kill 15 boring low-level guys in a low-level area which you've probably explored to death already. And do it else you don't get other quests.

Game freezes: I had a few of those. I'd use the attack bar, and then my character would not attack, followed by my ennemy not attacking either. It was a nice staring contest, but eventually I wanted to actually play so I had to force the game to continue using the right-click options. You might want to look into that.

The story: I'm part of one of 3 factions (which I can quit or join at any time for a minor fee???), but nothing is known about them except their suit, name or special attack?
I also barely remember why my character is doing all this. Suffice it to say I'm just assuming he's a bounty hunter out to get cash, and forgot entirely about that one page at the beginning. That'd be a-ok with an action game, but RPGs generally have nice stories. It's not a must, but it would make your next game better if you had a story that's a bit more consistent.

Spears don't stun much. I have no idea how they perform compared to an even-priced sword though, so I can't really compare.

Benspyda responds:

Thanks for your in depth review. Sorry i was pretty sure there was another place where you could find dogs but anyway. I will incorporate a better story in the sequel and greeter differences in weapons. Thanks

Not too good; not too bad, just in the Middle

Good game but it could use more weapons, more monsters, and a good storyline.

This needs a walkthrough

And a better map system. Quite fun, though rather long and somewhat boring towards the end.

bug

this game has bugs it stoped in midst battle

Benspyda responds:

Sorry about that

halfbad

its cool though it needs autoheal,it also needs you to choose a weapon
