Reviews for "Dead Frontier: Night One"

Excellent game

Very addicting game, but I always get stuck at about 50 kills, ran out of TMP bullets and the zooombies spawn too fast for me to handle with my Glock.

O.O

Looked good but failed to impress with the gameplay. make it first person and ill play.

Zombies are awesome..

I loved the game, Everything was on point from the different weapons, to the difficulty, to the music and engine. I was very happy with the outcome and I hope to see the RPG soon.

Good Game... Cant Wait For More

will the full version rpg be an MMO? and will it cost money or be free?

JaggedBladeSoftware responds:

It will be an offline single player RPG and will not be free. As of yet have not decided a price but won't be expensive.

In the future I will definitely consider attempting an MMO along the same lines.

Average Game - But Huge Possibilities!

Aah.. this game really takes me back. I actually began my game designers career by making zombi games really similar to this one.

Anyway, it has some serious problems in it, which I think you should look for ASAP.

- Moving
Controls aren't that funky in this game and for me it seemed that the character we are playing acts too slowly, specially in a situation were getting out of harms way is 'the' way to go. Contrary to the current one where the protagonist walks.

- Lack of (melee!) weapons
Well this is pretty self explanatory, players want to have various things with which to hack'n'n'shoot the horde down. But you say this is being covered so it is ok.

- Level Layout
My first thoughts were that the area itself was too small, but later on it was enough for me, all thought a larger map / maps would be a really good idea. Also, I has some serious problems with getting stuck into places where I though I could go unhindered. You should seriously put some more effort to get a clear distinction between free-space and blocked-space. Also, the zombies got stuck several times to corners and just stood there.

- Interaction
Not a negative aspect, but something you should have more, eg. shelf with reload option, breaking accessory etc. But the planned rpg part might be the solution to this.

- Proper ending
A game which has a reachable and interesting goal gets peoples attention. Just shooting stuff gets boring after awhile. Consider adding a rescue party or something according to those lines?

Anyways, music was good ( all thought you could notice the start of the 're-play') and light around the player was a good idea. Graphics are also pretty neat.

Considering all that was mentioned previously, this stands above the normal crap I tend to see, but requires some major tweaking. 8 / 10.
