You put effort into this but...

You asked for an honest review and I'll give it. First of all, no matter how much you plead with people not to blam your submission, its judgement will still be based on perceived quality. I did not blam your movie only because it was obvious that you put a lot of sincere effort into the work. That being said, your movie is extremely amateurish and obviously the work of a young person I would guess to be no older than 13 and probably a bit younger. Really my biggest complaint are the egregious spelling errors. Just type all your text into a word processor and spell check it before putting it into the flash. Your spelling of conscious was so far off that it took me a second to figure out what word you were trying to use. I think your spelling was something like "contous". Amusing to me but it's the kind of thing that will increase the likelihood of your submission being blammed from probable to very highly likely. But in defense of your flash I have to say that the self-deprecating humor you had, particularly the pointing out of which leg was Mario's right leg was worth a chuckle and definitely increased my opinion of the overall thing. The problem is that most people probably won't sit through the flash long enough to see those parts. I came very close to just closing it myself after the first 30 seconds and heading straight to blam. I'm not going to go into details concerning the graphics- it is what it is. I'd just like to offer a piece of advice and reiterate what I said earlier and that is don't beg and plead with people to not blam your submission. If anything it will make a lot of people MORE likely to blam it and some will just read that in your description and blam it without watching. Take my advice to heart because I really am trying to be helpful and constructive. Good luck in the future. Keep trying, get the spelling issues taken care of, and try to work on pacing; speed the whole thing up; you've gotta capture people's interest immediately and sustain it. Pacing is KEY.

P.S. - I voted 5 just to do my small part to help get it passed because for some reason I like you even though that animation was not very good.

At first, I couldn't tell if you made this bad on purpose or if this was a serious attempt. I eventually concluded that it was done poorly on purpose... no offense if you were actually trying to make a good looking Flash movie. I was laughing quite a lot. The non-transparent sprites, the... ah, it was all funny.

I gve you a ten for effort, but I voted low where it counts. I'm sure you had a lot of fun making this movie, but the reason the portal exists is to be sure that every artist is held Accountable for their work. For as young as I imagine you are, you;re pretty good wit the flash. It's frustrating once that trial runs out, I know, but there are freeware flash programs, and you could always get adobe off of a fileshare... I guess what I'm saying is that Newgrounds is not a right, and too many people are already on here that probably don't deserve it. Whether you deserve it is left to be said, but I don't feel that your Mario cartoon has a place on this site. Anybody with enough desire can get flash up and running piece of cake, so get ahold of it, practice, hold your self accountable for the quality of the work, and don't let a couple of blams get you down. Hell, the music I have on the audio portal would have been blamed if it worked the same as the flash portal over there. But I have my few fans here, and three albums that I worked my ass off for, that's enough for me right now. You never get the credit you want right away, and the people you see getting the credit are the ones who didn't give up when no-one looked in the first place. Keep creating, keep improving, and hopefully one day I add you to my favorite authors list.

Uh Oh...

I know you don't want people to rate this badly but you also want people to be honest so honestly... this will probably get blammed. If it doesn't congratulations, thats great news! Yes your trial for flash ran out but things like the fart joke, the mispelling of the word sense and the giant unrecognizable cow sprite will probably make people want to vote low on this. Also when people ask people not to blam stuff... they usually blam it anyways. Practice flash and watch other sprite movies to gain experience so you can get better. Good Luck

It wasn't half bad...

It was ok. The animation was far from top notch. The sound effects were of course ripped from various mario games, but this is a mario flash (Duh). Anyway this was pretty funny and I can tell you put some effort into it. But don't post anything on Newgrounds and not expect to get negative criticism.

Begging people to "vote high" and "don't blam this" is begging to get BLAMMED. If you can't take criticism or negative comments and/or assholes that call this crap, then don't post anything on NG ever again. PERIOD

Lots of great flash authors have to put up with assholes spamming their PM box and giving horribly hateful reviews. If they can put up with it and persevere, then maybe you could be inspired to do so. Guys like Krinkels, Johny Utah, Luis and Zeebarf don't beg people to "vote high' and "please don't blam this, I worked really hard on it."

Otherwise if you can't take it, then please do us all a favor and NEVER submit anything again.
