The first thing I noticed is the interesting composition of the piece. Ruby is shoved off to the side leaving a great deal of the painting to be wall and etchings. It gives the whole thing a lonely and foreboding feeling.
The shading and the strokes of the brush are masterfully done. Hair looks like it has and actual body. Thanks to careful shading, rather than a solid mass it seems like real individual strands. Her skin gives off a texture that feels accurate to real life and, again, is shaded properly in a way that looks anatomically correct and gives the depth and dimensions of a real three-dimensional face.
The gray and black color are used to give off the dark and ominous feel present in the animation itself and the help the sparse red in her eyes and in the light bloom around her temple stand out. The red popping out gives an intensity to her stare that would have been lost if less gloomy and dim colors were used. Some people may not like staring at something that could be described as dreary, but it just works too well here.
Excellent job as usual. It's certainly very different from your normal works and a step out of your comfort zone, but it reflects the high grade of skill you have in your craft.
